So this one came up the other day and I wasn't sure if I had been screwing it up for a while. Under the Calladius assassin's hand to hand weapons she has a phase blade in one part and 'poisoned weapons' in another part.

Do you need to pick one and ignore the other, or do you get the effects of both?

I always played it as both,(so a poisoned phase sword) but I'm not convinced i'm doing it right.

Relevant sections in the rulebook:
P42 of the rulebook under the "More than one weapon section":
"...If a model has more than one Melee weapon, he must choose which one to attack with when he comes to strike blows -- he cannot mix and match the abilities of several different Melee weapons."

I'm afraid I do not have the assassin codex with me right now.

The rule you quoted tells you everything you need to know. You can use one or the other... not both.

Errrr, you answered your own question... Basically you use the phase sword against squishy space marines, and poisoned weapons against things like monstrous creatures.

I'm not seeing any weapon that the Callidus has that is poisoned. Where is this in the profile? The only weapons are your sword and shedder... neither has the aforementioned special rule.

Callidus does also have poisoned blades, stilettos or some such. Its in the data slate

That is not a wargear or a weapon... its a special attack after all initiative steps are over and it doesn't have the poisoned rule either

What rules are you looking at? The Dataslate clearly states that the Callidus has Poisoned Blades in addition to her C'tan Blade.

Mine must be weird then. Under wargear I have Synskin, Sword, Shredder, Polymorphine, and Frags...

Under SRs, there is one called poisoned blades, but that certain isnt a weapon or wargear nor does is reference the poisoned special rule (what the OP was about).

Boy, I hope so, otherwise I deleted a wrong file somewhere. It says "Officio Assassinorum" on it, I'm looking at it right here. Seriously, let me know. I've got hundreds of files on my iPhone for 40k and I just deleted a bunch of them... if I deleted the wrong thing, let me know.

EDIT: Lol, well I did delete the wrong file, I some other random thing (probably that "leaked" file that was nothing) and deleted the real one (not really deleted, just told Kindle reader not to keep it on the device). Knew it was wrong one, when double checking found only 2 wounds on the Callidus.

Carry on folks, nothing to see here. Looked at proper file, yes rending weapon is much better.
