After many, many, many years of sitting on the sideline, sometimes dipping my toe in the pool, running away, coming back again, then leaving again. I have finally decided to take the leap and jump in the world of fantasy. Not sure if I've hit the hobby at the right time with 9th on the horizon but meh, lets collect all the Elves. This has always been something I wanted to do, mash up all the elves to get a unique army, I was just never sure it was legal. So if any has any pointers on starting up an Host of the Eternity King (1000pt) then please, drop your thoughts on me.

Well, used to be Space Wolves, but I believe between moving back from the USA to England they got lost in the warp.

So, I started afresh and bought the big Company box set that GW brought out sometime in the lateish 00s. Planning on them being the 2nd Company of the Ultramarines.
Followed by working on the 1st Company.. I have Marneus already, Honour Guard, a single terminator squad and a couple a Tyranid hunter squad... I think I can call that the beginning of the 1st Company!

After that, I was thinking of the Ultramar PDF - I have a several boxes of Cadians already stored away with the rest of my miniatures.

This year I want to actually get started on this rather than thinking about it

Badger, that sounds like a huge army to put together. Have you thought about starting a progression thread, so you have something prompting you to paint?

I'll have to hop up into the attic where everything is and take a picture of all of my miniatures so that you can how many of the things I have to paint.
A progression thread may be a very good idea otherwise I suspect I'll be just flailing around like a plonker.
