Destroyer Cult

Dlord + Solar Staff + Rez Orb

Dlords Retinue ::
5 x Destroyers
1 x Heave Destroyer

2 x D + 1 x HD
2 x D + 1 x HD

3 x HD

Total for Destroyer Cult 815

CAD

HS
Cryptek + Veil + Chrono + Rez Orb (Goes with Dlord Retinue.)

Elite
2 x Triarch Stalker

Troops
5 x Gauss Immortals

5 X Gauss Immortals

FA
3 x 1 x HD

HS
3 x 3 x HD

Total for CAD 1170

That leaves you 15 left to play with for 2k.

...just look at that alpha, though? 4 Melta shots, 18 BS 5 Preferred Enemy Lazzies, 6 of which stratight up have reroll to armor pen and wounds. On top of the you have 18 S5 AP 3 Gauss shots, all of which have re-roll tow wound and reroll to armor pen. And then throw in 3 S6 AP 3 Blind shots, with reroll to pen and reroll to wound, and 3 S5 AP 3 normal staff of light shots, which may or may not get the rerolls by buying in the nit (the cryptek?)

With good terrain, like Nova Terrain, this army would crush, It's good, I mean its meta crashing good with good terrain. Even if you are going into a tournament with light terrain, you could drop 4 to 6 HDs for a Mono or Obelisk. Bring your own LOS with you.

And, the thing is, even out in the open, these guys are crazy resilient. Two AV 13 vehicles with almost 60 T5 3+ RP 5+ wounds, 17 of which are almost unkillable (5++/RP 4+, re-rollable at will, a turn of snap shots). Think about it, you got the Solar Pulse, then a Rezzy for a round, then another rezzy for a round. For the first three turns your best unit is by far the hardest thing to kill. Of course, its the one that's going to be right in their face, too.

I honestly don't see why everyone thinks Destroyer wing will be great at tournies. What if you face a Daemon player? Be;lakor with a hound star or a screamerstar will not make for a fun game.

Even Tau with riptides and a side squad in a bunker will hurt bad.

Aftermath can be calculated.

I'm thinking that a Conclave of the Burning one with a Cryptek with Veil and Nightbringer Shard will complement the force well. It can teleport up close to join in an Alpha Strike, and Gaze of Death can take down invisible targets, the units which Lord Commissar points out will be a problem to a Destroyer Wing.

I think Destroyer wing is very strong however this list has over committed to heavy Destroyers. Any Hordy combat army will run over this (InvisiKhorne Dogs as mentioned above or Green tide). You'll do well against a Knight army and possibly a Marine bike list, and possibly Serpent Spam (though probably not).

Anything that relies on one star uni, like invisi Korhne, I can out unit.

Serpent Spam would be a Joke with this list, are you kidding me?

I think many of you are vastly underestimating both the firepower and resiliency of this list. Riptides, Missilsides, and WKs would just disappear. Wave Serpents will have to choose between death and so dramatically nerfing their shots as to be largely ignorable. Math Hammer out a Jinking WS against this list if you don't believe me.

I do agree you could afford to cut down on the HDs, if you wanted to. This was mostly a concept lest.

Also, I really don't think Hordes would end out that much of a problem, but it's something to keep an eye on.

Just kill anything thats not invisi and you should be just fine. Deathstars can only kill one unit a turn and I have 14.

You are aware multi-assault is a thing right? Also re,member jink isn't the only way to get 3+ cover on a Serpent.

Perhaps I am underestimating the survivability of the list. I still think you're over invested in Heavy Destroyers. Check out my version of the list here:

Lower points and fewer Heavy Destroyers but they are all rerolling everything

As I've been playing around with an Imo Flayed One list this week, it has occurred to me what great complements Flayed Ones are to Heavy Destroyers. Basically everything FOs have trouble with (AV 11+, and T8), HDs absolutely dominate. The one thing HDs really can't reliably take out, Hordes, FOs absolutely dominate.

That brings me to this ::

Destroyer Cult

155 Dlord + Solar Staff + Rez Orb ( Goes with Flayed Ones)

130 2 x Destroyers 1 x Heave Destroyer

130 2 x D + 1 x HD

130 2 x D + 1 x HD

150 3 x HD

Total for Destroyer Cult 695
CAD

HS
90 Cryptek + Chrono ( Goes with Flayed Ones)

Elite
250 2 x Triarch Stalker

195 15 x Flayed Ones

Troops
85 5 x Gauss Immortals

85 5 X Gauss Immortals

FA
150 3 x 1 x HD

HS
450 3 x 3 x HD

Total for CAD 1305

2000 on the nose.

DLord and Cryptek roll with the Flayed Ones to give you 20 4+/5++ RP 4+ wounds, backed by a Solar Pulse and a Res Orb.

One alternate I thought of is drop the Res Orb for a War Scythe and the Particle Shredders on the Stalkers. The Res orb on those Flayed Ones might turn our to be a bit superfluous, and the Warscythe gives them some heavy AV/T8 insurance.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just thought of this, but grabbing Veil for the Cryptek seems like a no brainer. Maybe dropping one HD to grab Veil, not sure what else, phylactery for the heavy or something?
