Hey, I was a bit bored at work and made a few fun army lists with a green Ironwing/Mechwing theme. These aren't super serious lists but I'd imagine that it'd be fun to play at least!

List 1:

The question is why is this dark angels? Seems like your using basically nothing they have which you can no do better in C:SM.

No particular reason really. I just picked DA codex by default when I loaded Battlescribe. What chapter tactics would be the best for this type of a list? Iron Hands for IWND vehicles or maybe Raven Guard? Just seems like a pretty funny idea to have 17 scoring units with ObSec with the 2nd list.

The problem with IH is the rhinos are just gong to die do IWND is not useful. The 6+ FNP is still decent though.

I have seen some very successful ultramarine rhino rush lists. Obviously its good with pods as well.

I can see this as imperial fists too. Ride up with heavy bolters in the squads and start shooting. Sentinels of terra would be even better.

I guess Fists would be better suited for my taste. Should probably switch some heavy weapons to Hbolters to get even more benefit from the tactic.

And the chapter tactic won't let me reroll hit rolls on my Rhinos, right?

Edit: also, does the IF chapter tactic work with The Primarch's Wrath?

I'm shocked to see a "mechwing DA" list without the PFG in it! Hang your head in shame OP!

In all seriousness, if you want to use DA and get lots of tanks, then you need a liibrarian on a bike with a PFG.

This is one of the few advantages the codex has, and does make mechanized armies much more durable.

If you don't want to do this, then swap to SM instead.

what he said. Don't let your warlord ride alone tho, get a few black knights or even the Dark Vengance bikers to ride with him. Three bikes won't do much but they're a lot better than the libby by himself.

I kinda wish I could take a Techmarine on a bike as my sole HQ choice. I'm fully aware how good the PFG is, it wasn't missing completely by accident. How I normally use PFG is having my libby stay in the backfield and bubble a predator, a razorback and/or devastators if there is enough room. This is while remaining stationary and buffing units with prescience. Haven't even got a bike libby although I always knew that the day would come when I'd have to do some chopping and fix myself one.

So which one should it be? A stationary librarian bubblewrapping tanks and buffing devastators (and maybe others) or a bike libby charging in with a few rhinos full of green guys in bathrobes? I guess in either scenario I should ditch the command squad and fill in those points with something else.
