Just thought I'd do a quick intro.

My names Steve, known as SW1 on the swchq and b&c forums.

I've spent the last 2 decades or more collecting large armies for 40k and whfb, but failing to get any actually painted up. The hobby butterfly syndrome kicks in or RL decides to throw a curveball. I've finally got into the right point where I can start making a bit of a headway into the slight hobby backlog. Over the last few years I've worked through a chunk of my Vampire Counts and dabbled a bit with different 40k armies I've got models for.

I've also started crafting and casting my own series of scenic bases. The plan was to do my Space Wolves Great Company but that plan was scuppered by the move to new base size GWS have introduced for SM. Having cast up several hundred bases (its a proper GC) I'm not going to waist them. So the back up plan is to restart my guard army and eventually expand my bases to include 32mm bases so I can get the SW's done as well. The guard are currently being prep'd for stripping so I can start the paint job from scratch, these will mainly be old metal models so worth the effort. I'll start a blog up to follow my progress once the many layers of paint have been removed.

I've also just started work on a gaming table for my brother which looks like it's going to end up being a rather fun build so I'll do a separate blog to follow that progress as well.

Cheers

SW1

Cheers, I've started a blog for the table.

Not 100% sure I'll carry on with the blog though as there's some archaic auto update function which adds any additional updates into a single entry. Not seen that on a forum in quite a while :(

Welcome to dakka!

The auto-update thing appends any posts made within a certain time - I believe it was 12 hours last time I saw it mentioned. More to prevent you spamming your own thread constantly than anything else I think - and once your thread starts getting some traffic it's rarely an issue. (And if you're updating every hour then you're working far too fas for my liking anyway Bloody youngsters and their speedy ways )

The flag thing is connected to where your ISP s being routed - if it doesn't settle down you can PM a mod to get it locked down, or mention it in the Nuts and Bolts thread.

Looking forward to seeing your terrain.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
