Just in case anybody here hasn't noticed, there are 6 new colossals (minimum) imbound in Reckoning, with the following confirmed:

Cygnar - Hurricane
Protectorate - Revelator
Khador - Victor
Cryx - Sepulchur
Retribution - Helios
Convergence - Prime Conflux

The details are available from their YouTube post here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc6DeP47JnI&feature=youtu.be

Importantly this means that Convergence is seeing some support in Reckoning, and there are going to be new big models on the table. What do you think of each one? How do you think each will influence your faction?

The Revelator will see play. The guns are probably slightly longer ranged Vanquisher cannons, and ignoring/removing Stealth is a thing.

The Victor will also likely see play. 5" AOE thats either Rough Terrain, Continuous Fire, or Flare is so very good, its also probably at least pow16 and range 20.

Need more info on the others to make a call on their viability.

Not fond of the Victor thus far, because it doesn't address any of the problems that Khador has, and is just another hard-to-hit big gun in a sea of hard-to-hit big guns.

I strongly disagree, might be my meta but the ability to set satyxiss (and say high def low arm warcasters) on fire with a large template from faaaaar away appeals to me greatly.

I like the Helios. Then again I like being able to move my opponents models, it's extremely powerful.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Yeah, i saw Helios / tractor beam and was like "oh, 3rd party assassination vector negotiation ? Yes please. "

Ive not really had issues doing that with assault kommando flamethrowers. If I want to get really cute I just suicide run them into my opponent and force free strikes until gak catches fire. Hell, Khador already had plenty of ways to deal with high def stuff.

I was really hoping for Epic Axis as a character colossal personally. Something like a Avatar of Menoth style focus generation ability and a conferred rage buff to vectors nearby. Fluff as he got his transfer to a clockwork body (the biggest smashiest body the Constellation Array could devise) but it made him completely insane. He can't lead vectors anymore, but his obsessive mechanical calculations allow nearby vectors to strike more effectively.

I do like the lighting colossal for CoC. Now we just need a unit with electrical shenanigans to make the ionization servitors worthwhile (also, stealth buff to Modulator, which is in my opinion the most "meh" jack in Convergence, is appreciated).

Modulators are cheap, with buffs from this guy they could be great.

The cryx one makes me sad.

It doesn't fit my playstyle at all, and seems like it'll need a mechanithrall unit just to be worth taking.

Quite ironic seeing as the title under your name currently says 'Mechanithrall'

I'm excited about new Colossals. I love huge based minis. The Victor looks cool, and I love the tractor beam idea for the Ret one. It's a shame the chassis are the same, purely because I hate how the Stormwall looks and this new one will mostly be the same, but it's fine for all the others.

The Protectorate one has an attack that lets other units target stealth models, according to the video.

As per the rulebook- "Ranged and magic attacks declared against this model when the point of origin of the attack is greater than 5" away automatically miss." Nothing makes a stealth model untargetable. It is a quite a common tactic to drop an AOE on a stealth model (which usually has poor armour) and hope you get a small enough deviation to still kill them with blast damage.

Have you watched the video? I'm guessing it removes stealth then, but you know what I mean. If you hit it with the new Protectorate colossal, other stuff can hit it too.

I have. It appears to essentially have a targeting flare, which is what the Spriggan has.

Yup, but it does no damage. You simply drop the AOE completely within its range and anything in said AOE loses stealth and camouflage and all models also ignore cloud effects when drawing LOS to those models.

Sounds like some variation of this combined with the Colossal itself having True Sight (which allows the model which has it to ignore stealth, concealment and camouflage).

Targeting Flare is a 3" AOE that removes stealth and camouflage and you can ignore clouds when drawing LOS to models within it. So it could be something similar.

It will be the subsystem that gives it the anti-stealth.

From that knowledge, its most likely something like "this model ignores the stealth special rule, enemy models hit by an attack made by this model lose stealth for one round"

We can hope for a giant Skorne bug, but will likely get a different Mammoth. Or possibly a Hydra.

That's if they do Gargantuans. I don't think they'll make whole new models, and it's harder to make new Gargantuans the way they have Colossals, the way they're organic, it's not just swapping some weapons (well, maybe the Mammoth).

It might not be that hard for gargantuans.

Skorne: as mentioned, different weapons on a mammoth.
Circle: already different types of wolds, so could easily be a different type.
Legion: they make warbeasts on demand. A subtype of archangel could be made.
Trolls: this one is tough, since mountain kings are actually unique. They could go mammoth style and just strap guns on its arms.

As a semi-competitive friendly Cryx player (yes, we do exist! ) it's the models looks that come before the rules for me. Unfortunately I've never liked the Kraken, so the new guy does nothing for me either. I see why they went with same chassis' but it would have been nice to have completely new types.
