So after playing Metro 2033 all weekend, I figured it would be a great idea for a RPG. I decided to use Dark Heresy (1st edition, I don't have the 2nd edition book yet) as the system. But now I'm stuck with a decision.

Do I keep most of the 40k setting, just using a cut off nuked world, with both the Cults of the Emperor and the Machine God. This would require minimal tweaking, but I'm not sure if I really want it.

The other option is to cut all the 40k fluffy stuff and using the core mechanics. But I would have to rework some of the character classes.

Seeing as I might be putting this out on Roll20 or something similar, I thought I would get your opinions. After all, its the players story, I'm just telling it

Are the players at all interested/knowledgeable about 40K?

That should give you your answer.

As it is I will probably keep the 40k fluff, do away with the sanctioned psyker class, and rework the homeworld part of character creation. And release a packet for the backstory, because it is so different
