Bought this Tamiya kit as a Christmas kit for myself last year. Took me from that point till now to finish this project (so a little over 2 months?). The diorama kit is a MiniArt kit, which upon unboxing I wasn't too impressed with since everything was still molded to the original plastic sheets. I literally had to score the edges of the walls and peel off the plastic sheets. It was a work in an of itself and not everything lined up very well, but I did the best I could given the quality (or lack there of).

I used putty to keep the figures on as I can use this kit for tabletop terrain, but I do plan on mounting it entirely onto a nice wood finished base. Hope you like it!

(P.S. my inspiration for this came from reading the WW2 trilogy by Jeff Shaara. I highly recommend those books if you are at all interested in the battle for North Africa and Europe. They are kind of a mix of fiction and non-fiction, but entertaining and enlightening all the same).

I love this man! Tremendous use of motion in the diorama. Really can imagine the scene that is happening here. Beautiful!

Actually my favorite part is the guy leaning around the front of the tank!

This is why I love shermans, you have done it justice!

How did you do the snow? It looks so realistic

Wow amazing. Looks very realistic! Great work.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

This! Wow. I heard noises, gunshots, yelling, tank treads, etc when I was looking through this. You have done something amazing.

Thanks! I really enjoyed giving life to this kit. I built a Sherman kit a very long time ago and this is leaps and bounds ahead of that one.

The snow on the tank was a happy accident. I bought some woodland scenics brand foam putty to make the snow drifts on the base. I was using the tank as a stamp to get the track design in the snow and it stuck to the treads and that's when I realized how great that looked. So I just stuck some on my finger and started scraping along the tracks and bogies.

Anyway, I've got a Japanese type 10 tank and a cougar jet I have yet to start on. So look forward to those in the next few months!

Very nice job, think you have got just about the right amount of snow on the tank - always think it is easy to overdo it, and it would have made it look like it was parked up (which I'm sure would have taken away from the theme of the diorama, which is one of movement)

Great work
