Does anyone else get the powerful urge to paint whenever you wind up separated from your miniatures for several days?

But when you get back to them, and can paint suddenly you can't seem to force yourself....

I HATE that!

What are things to increase discipline to paint?

I need to make certain I get my four minis a day painted.

I'm from the future. The future of space

That's an impressive rate of painting. I'm happy with one or two.

This may sound like silly nonsense, but I find it helps to think of painting as something I get to do rather than have to do. I shouldn't ever have to force myself to do something I enjoy. I just allow myself to do it instead. I don't know if that makes any sense at all.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I keep multiple projects going, one reason is to be able to relax off of one, and come back to it, check it out, just to make sure I don't rush it just to finish it from being tired of that particular project.

I am intimidated by things like Titan models... :/

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women.

That is what I used to do when I had an actual dedicated studio in my house (and when I had an actual house).

But my miniatures are all over creation right now, and I only have the Goblins/Orcs in a place where I can work on them, and to work on something else (which would be either: • More. Goblins/Orcs • Rohirrim • 6mm Sci-Fi/epic Tau • 15mm Gauls or Greeks) I would have to pack up the Goblins/Orcs (so the cats would not think them toys and play with them... Because they WOULD), unpack the other miniatures, and organize them.... And then pack them back up, and unpack others when something else struck me....

I SO want to be able to do that, though, because I know it would help me drop into a groove to paint longer.

Beafraid, I checked out your gallery, I like what I see. Sounds like bad times if your stuff is all over creation. I lost all my stuff during a divorce, managed to get my hobby things back after a year.
Anyway, those large kits very intimidating to me. I'll get to it though.

Where are you living may I ask? I'm in North West Arkansas myself.

I am currently living in Houston and Los Angeles, and the occasional bit of time in Dallas and San Francisco.

I am SUPPOSED to be living in Los Angeles (which is my residence), but I MIGHT relocate back to SF (purely as my residence) for insurance purposes.

I have not yet decided.

I had to take a year off getting a second and third undergraduate degree at UCLA to work (I used up my Federal Student Financial Aid), and things went haywire at work, leaving me stranded, and technically homeless.

But I have places I can stay as long as I drift back and forth between Houston and LA (which I can sort of do, as my brother is a pilot).

Hopefully, though, it can get some better shots of my work up in the next few months.

And in the coming year, produce some better work now that I have slowed down my painting to do a few things better (which I used to be able to do ridiculously fast).

I find the most important thing for me is having a clear work area set up that is uncluttered. If it's set up to make it as easy as possible for me to paint, I will do it, rather than mindlessly browsing the internet for ages.

I think this might be my biggest problem right now.

I currently have roughly 4 square feet to work with, and I no longer have a dedicated work area.

I think maybe doing something about this problem might well be the key to moving more quickly in panting.
