Subject: Forgeworld units vs new codices

I'm looking for a general consensus on how to make lists using IA units/lists, but which have received new points values/ rules in a codex.
I will use the Chimera to clarify.
A chimera in IA1 can take an autocannon and still has 5 firepoints.
A chimera in the IG codex is 10 points more expensive, cannot take an auto cannon, and has new rules regarding passengers firing.
If I want to use a Chimera with autocannon, how should I do it? And how many points would it cost?
A similar query includes the cost and transport capacity of vendettas in an elysian army.
Thanks.

I heard the new IA book might be coming out soon so I would hold off buying the old edition

There are lots of IA books with discrepancies.
I doubt IA volumes 1 and 3 (those with the examples I listed) will receive any attention for a while, as they've already been updated to 6th/7th edition.

If you're using an army list use the profile from that army list. If an Imperial Armour book tells you that you may take a unit entry there in a different list you may use that profile in that slot instead. It's that simple.
The Elysian list has a defined profile for the Vendetta so it uses those rules, if it said "see AM Codex" you could use that but since it doesn't you use those rules. The Chimera in IA1 says you can use it as a Dedicated Transport for the AM book, so you can, but you can't replace any other Guard list's Chimeras with it.

As above: they co-exist. Pick what you want to use.

FW received some reviews about IA3 Tau stuff and could put their new versions in IA14
