The Frozen North

Hello all, I am getting settled in from my recent move and have finally have a real workspace. Along with that I have gathered all my broken models, bits, and pieces from a disaster a few moves back and decided to get some modeling in. I present to you (minus paint thus far) a pair of heavy servitors (counts-as Sentinels) for an Adeptus Mechanicus force I am scraping together from the ruins. I apologize for the generally poor quality of the pictures, I do not yet have a photo area set up.

Very cool in a creepy way. Perfect for mechanicum. I think i would have put some containers inside behind the wires in the torso or something creepy to fill the gap.

Really nice job using the empty gut area from the ogres as a space for wiring. Really innovative conversion, overall.

Really good idea!
These guys would be purpose built so a nod toward some armor would be good.
Wouldn't want these guys to be confused with the hedge trimmer and hedge-hog hunting survitors.
Hey, works on other models: use spare tank track?
Wonder if I should use those spare trimmers from my walkers for dreadnoughts or two handed pole arms...
Think the guys need just a couple more things and would then rock the tabletop.

Thank you, creepy is exactly what I am going for. As far as the space behind the cables, I am not sure what to place in there.

I have been considering some armor to be added with Lorica Segmentata style shoulder armor and a gut plate with the Adeptus Mechanicus symbol.

I have added some armor plates to the servitors. The gut plates from the ogre kits were used after removing the designs for the belly and I used Ork boy shoulder plates for the arms. I got them primed and have given them a black wash to pre-shade them in preparation for painting.

I will be painting all the mechanical bits in steel with copious amounts of brass, the cloth elements a rich crimson, and the exposed flesh will be done with glazes to give it a pallid translucent skin. I am however torn as to what to do for the armor plates and other hard structural elements.

Option one, leave it the bare metallics.
Option two, paint them black giving it a menacing and fairly foreboding scheme.
Option three, paint them a cream white/ivory giving it visual interest and a nice color pallete.

Thoughts?

These are really cool. In a properly creepy way lol.

Please don't post anymore though. Because soon the temptation will be too much for me and I'll have to start converting my own Mechanicus force lol.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
PS - option four, a darker metallic than the other elements? That way still foreboding but is more interesting than just black. So whatever bolt gun metal is called nowadays with some black wash on top or even bolt gun with some black ink added to have it darker to begin with..

Have no fear, I will continue to convert and paint... Mwahahaha!

The dark metallic is something to consider, however I think that may make it seem a bit too close to Dark Mechanicus for what I am going for.

I got some paint on the twins:

They need some touching up here and there and I plan to subdue the bruising a bit. I am still torn whether to leave it in metallics as it is or to paint the various panels in black or ivory. Maybe even a crenelated black AND ivory...

Really cool. I'm seeing a good idea for a summoned greater daemon proxy for an imperial army here. But what happened to the cabs of the sentinels? If you don't have plans for them shoot me a pm I might could take em off your hands.

The cabs were already used for some Hydra flak halftracks I did.

Damn You!

Really cool conversions. Along the lines of something I was pondering with spare Sentinel legs and other gubbins. Didn't think of Ogre torsos.

Kudos to you and your skills.
