I've recently made the decision to get into historical war gaming, and I'm really liking the Bolt Action range. Anyway, I've picked up a rangers squad and I've decided that I want my army to be based around these guys, who I want to model up as members of the 5th Ranger Battalion during the Normandy campaign and I'm wanting to see if you guys have any advice on HOW I should go about modeling them up, because my knowledge on unit iconography and gear usage is.... limited, to say the least. Anyway, any advice and/or resources y'all can give on that front would be great.

This is a site dedicated to WW2 reproduction uniforms and the like but this gives an equipment list for the guys who landed on D-day. Generally, same deal as general US grunts in the ETO but with a few special items: Gas brassards (Sheets of paper that turned a different color when exposed to poisonous gases), M7 Gas Mask bags and Assault vests.

Sweet, thanks for the link. Certainly helps with picking which packs to use.
