About a year or two ago I decided to convert all my SM to one chapter. The concept was simple, have one chapter that could utilize any SM codex or chapter tactics and have all the models built and painted for it. It all began one day as I looked at my completed and highly coveted SW army and thought, why not make them all the same color for ease? I use to have a BA JP Army, my SW Rhino Rush, and a small DA contingent, but thought making them all the same would simplify storage and life in general. So here I am now, debating this once again...

I recently started to acquire many pre-painted models from various members. Some partial armies and such, the concept was to build starter armies so when people came over, they picked a codex and I had a pre-built, pre-rostered, 500 point list to go. Now while this still continues with all the various other races, the SM have me in a pickle. I have been debating converting them all the BA once again as I love the BA lore. The only thing that combats that lore for favorite in my mind is the Fallen Angels, or just The Fallen. The original dark angels have captivated my thoughts. It is why I made a Vanilla Codex army based off of them that could double as a Chaos Army as well. It was great and flexible, and honestly, just Bad-ASS! Black armored with cloaks and markings of that dark green, it made me giggle....

So I pose this poll to you gents, should I convert all to BA or to the Fallen? I am on the fence, but would love to here arguments/advice for one way or another. The biggest being for me that I am not a great painter (check my gallery) so the black armored Fallen would be easier for me to churn out than the bright colored BA. The only other issue is that the Fallen would require me to procure quite a few "robed" marines to match my current army. This would require a greater financial investment, but I could possibly swing it with the trading of pretty well painted BA.

But seriously, the Fallen is a completely badass concept. I have quite a lot of kitbashed Fallen marines, but I stopped collecting them when I realised how unlikey it was in the fluff to have more than a squad of Fallen in the same place and time, let alone a whole army of like 40-60 marines and vehicles.

Still if you do decide on the Fallen and you're interested in a trade I can send you some pics!

I'd go with the Fallen, if only because you could come up with some badass fluff for them. Plus, you could use them as CSM, Dark Angels or even regular beakies!

Dark Angels are my jam. When I suggest the Fallen, know that it's a very biased opinion and that my main reasoning is "why not?" "cause they're cool" and "come on, robes!".

I have an army of Fallen Angels using the Dark Angel's models, but using the rules from The Black Legion. This means that Dark Angels have preferred enemy against me, and I have hatred against space marines.

Well Gents,
I think you convinced me to go Fallen over my beloved BA. I am going to have to assess the damage that will incur financially. I have at least over 100+ painted BA models at this point, so this is going to amplify the "great conversion" of 2015 exponentially.

So many Robed Marines are about to occur!
