So I'm starting a space marine army soon, and I've decided that on my chapter master, I'd like him to have these legs!

Sad part is, from most truescaling techniques, you cut up the thighs and then extend them basically with greenstuff, but that doesn't seem very possible here. I'm not looking for extremely time consume work, as I need to prepare a whole army in Artscale, I just want my marines to be taller than a Guardsman and be somewhat relative to the fluff size-wise, which is around 7-7.5ft for a Space Marine.

I was thinking to just put a small dab of Greenstuff under the torso to extend him, and a tiny bit under the shoulders to make him bulkier (I've seen this technique before, subtle but amazing) however I'm not sure this would be as satisfying as something similar to this

Or this

The problem is that I want my army to be almost TOTALLY converted from third party bits to make them as unique as possible, it's my ambition, but then comes the factor of Truescaling, artscaling or whatever you want to call it.

So tell me Dakka, how can I do this?

That does look like it could be tricky.

I'd guess a spacer between the legs and torso could help add an extra mil or two. Another option would be to add a bit of plasticard or greenstuff under the feet to give him thicker soled shoes.

You could also give him an elaborate base. Something that gives the illusion of truscaling/hight by perching him higher up.

I think you've got your work cut out for you. You will have to put time and effort into these guys so you cant really have it done quickly. On a lighter note though, its great that you have this ambition and those legs are looking sweet!

Good luck!

Perhaps I could cut the legs maybe, since they seem to be only a cylinder as expected with a ribbed one down the front.

This is relying on the robes not being solid, however. It's not guaranteed I'll be able to do it... Hm. Truscaling will certainly be easier when I'm not doing a chapter-master. I guess my big big problem is having him look as big as regular marines if I were to truescale them using Terminator parts, which I may or may not do. I'll have to buy a spare pack of Space marines and greenstuff and experiment.

Raise up the feet. A slim layer of plasticard would give a similar thick boot 'sole' look that the Aquila Marines have. Bit of GS to bring cape/robes to similar length. Boom.
