Just finished this beast. I absolutely loved painting this model.

"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

I'm not sure whether to feel delighted or disgusted .

That blood effect is amazing. How did you do it? I especially like how all the purples, reds, verdigris and bronze really pop out against the dull sickly green!

I too am a fan of the model and it is encouraging to see that other people are painting it too.

BTW, I really hate the forge world paint job, it is way to dull. I much prefer this one.

One of the few models that blood and gore looks right at home on. Nice work

The purple tongue was a nice choice. Adds some much needed contrast to the model. Good job with the gore effects, also.

Putrefying. Utterly revolting in a good sort of way.

May I ask for your recipe for blood? Is it simply blood for the blood god?

The blood was achieved by applying a layer of Khorne red, a wash of Carroburg crimson, then once dry, a lyer of 'Ard coat. Tamiya clear red and Blood for the blood god is then applied around the edges.

The pus was a mixture of ubshanti bone and yellow glaze mixed together.

Hope this helps
