Hey guys frequent problem I run into is justifying taking sonic blasters on my noise marines. I frequently only take MSU for the blastmaster, and this unit is usually static.

How do run your sonic blasters?

I don't. 10 for 2x blast masters of msu only

You don't. Ignoring cover with AP5 is only okay, and there's the matter of them being SALVO. They end up simply being static and schizophrenic with the fact they're I5 and can purchase additional CCW's.

PersonallyI think they're worth it as they almost triple the small arms firepower of your squad for a handful of extra points. Ignoring cover is good as this can take down hordes effectively and deny Eldar rangers their 2+ cover saves

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

I believe there's an FAQ on the GW website (in the rules errata link at the bottom of the webpage) stating that Noise Marines can indeed take 2 blastmasters for 10 models.

This is correct.

If you build them to be dakka dakka, go ahead and go for unit of 10 with two blastmasters. The Sonic Blasters may end up being a wasteful investment if your in a MEQ (or better) meta. Also I believe that the doom siren ends up being a bit wasted on this unit.

If you build them for choppa choppa, definitely don't stick sonic blasters on them, 1 blastmaster might be okay, I would hardly bother with two. Go ahead and stick a doom siren on this unit, they'll almost definitely get more out of it than their dakka counterparts (also not a bad idea to stick them in a land raider).

Can't go wrong with Icon of Excess on either unit.

Or if you want to go full objective holding.

20 Noise Marines with Two Blastmasters and the Icon of Excess. That many wounds is hard to chew through.

On the other hand, it's easy to ignore, as its ranged output isn't especially crazy, and it costs like 500+ points.
