I feel what is lacking in CSM is that they are Loyalist Space Marines... Just worse so I was thinking what would make a normal marine more "Chaosy" To do this I propose marks are significantly along with Icons if needed. I was thinking that each mark would make a marine be able to invoke their gods wrath upon them or if they are not careful upon themselves.

MOK: Same as before, but rapid fire weapons may be used on the charge they just must now take an initiative test when doing this and if they fail they lose their bonus attack on the charge. God invocation: Only useable once per game- Unit with MOK may run and shoot and charge in the turn, but if the unit fails to get into close combat by the end of the turn they are removed as a casualty. After that turn the unit is returned to normal.

MON: Same as before. God Invocation: Only useable once per game- Unit with MON may elect to have its ranged attacks that hit create one wound to be allocated to a different model this wound has the same profile as the first shot. If the second wound fails to kill a model that turn the unit is removed as a casualty. After that turn the unit is returned to normal.

MOT: Grants +2 to the units invul save (giving a 5 plus if it didn't have one to begin with), and the unit grants the army plus one warp charge God Invocation: Only useable once per game- Champion with MOT may elect to become a mastery lvl one psyker. If it fails to manifest a power that turn the unit is removed as a causality. After that turn the unit is returned to normal.

MOS: Grants +2 initiative. God Invocation: Only useable once per game- Unit with MOS may elect the enemy to re-roll their to hit rolls in one phase. If that unit fails to kill an enemy champion the enemy may re-roll to hit them for the rest of the game. The forcing enemy to re-roll to hit is only in effect for one turn.

...Why are there so many, "fix CSM" topics? Please look into Imperial Armor vol 13: Warmachines of the lost and the damned. And you will find your chaos salvation.

You won't find a fix for the infantry (particularly the Cult Marines), but it does go a long way towards making the army function in the modern game.

Maybe MOS could be I+1 and FnP 6+

Dark apostel point drop - maybe 25-30p. Maybe ability to get one master level for 25p.

The chaos benefit we give in our group is
Roll on the boon table when you enter a challenge
If the warlord has a mark, one troop unit receives that for free
Mark of Nurgle gives +1 to feel no pain, 6+ if didn't have it before.
