Hey guys, so I'm in the mood for some D&D style gaming. What are some good games that are on PS3? This can include games on the PSN store. It doesn't specifically have to be hack n' slash or RPG, but just something to scratch the itch.

I admit, I've never owned a PS3, but I remember Champions of Norrath from PS2 was pretty good. I don't know if you can find that on PSN or not.

I'm really struggling to think of any myself right now..... I think the 360/PS3 was an era that seems kinda devoid of these..

Yeah. The couple that come to mind (Dragon's Crown, Shadows over Mystara, Dark Souls) I've already beat beyond recognition

Dark Souls is nothing like D&D. The only games that are remotely similar to D&D are the old games like Planescape, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale.

The mechanics are very important to make it D&D styled.

Malifaux masters owned: Guild(Sans McCabe), Outcasts(Sans Misaki), Arcanists(Sans Marcus)

Dragon Age Origins was available on PS3, wasn't it? I know my PC version at least, I spent most of the time zoomed out in the isometricish view.

Not to pick up a broken record, jreilly89 what is your personal definition of D&D style?

Just anything that gets me in the adventuring mood. Dragon Age is good, but I beat Origins already lol

If you mean a general 'swords, sorcery and adventuring' type game, rather than something that specifically works off a D20-mechanic (like Baldur's Gate for instance) you could try Dragon's Dogma - haven't played it myself, but have heard very good things about it.

Erm... Conan?

If it's just an RPG experience that you crave, might I suggest the following? 'Star Ocean:The Last Hope', 'Demons Souls' and 'Child Of Light'. They are all great games, but not really D&D. If you have a PC why not try any of the actual D&D games that the platform has to offer? Baldurs Gate is brilliant, but Planescape:Torment is the daddy

Oh, and Pacific, love your avatar.... "I can open beer bottles with my overbite!"

Dragon's Dogma is probably the closest thing I've come to to "D&D" style gaming. You play the main character and can hire "Pawns" that follow you into dungeons and give advice on quests, You hire these pawns off the PSN, so you need internets, but you can also directly download your friend's pawns.

Last time I checked (months ago) I was a Holy Warrior of swords that used maces, heavy shields and armor, and had my buddy's pawn (a tank), my pawn (a healer), and a random pawn that was good at casting spells or shooting arrows.

There is teamwork needed to take down some monsters like the Tank will distract the monster while other characters can climb up the back of the monster and stab it in easier to hit but harder to get to locations (can also strip armor this way too).

HUGE Game I've spent at least 15-20 hours and I've barely scratched the surface.

Also if you're a fan of Berserk (Guts, etc...) there is a Griffon armor and a "Swordsman's" armor that will make you look like those two.

Oooh, I just remembered one that almost always tends to fall under the radar because the company got into a bit of a mess, but is actually a really good (and completely huge game - It's about the size of some MMO's, you genuinely don't need to visit most of the areas in the game).

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I really did enjyo that game a few years ago, and it tends to be pretty cheap too.

Yep. Really fun and solid game, would have loved to see what they did for a sequel.

Loved Kingdoms of Amalaur

If you love DnD writing, the world (not the story) was written by R.A Salvatore.

I'll second (4th?) This. I really enjoyed this game. I'm really upset at the studio going bankrupt.

Another one I liked was Lord of The Rings: War in the North. It's very CO-OP-ey based, but it's fun if you get it for cheap on single player too.

Oh yeah. Story was decent and the combat was actually fun. The side horde-style missions were meh, but overall, for $10 on PSN, I really enjoyed this game.

I keep meaning to try that game.

I did hear that it started life as an MMO, but the support infrastructure couldn't be set up so they changed it to a one player game.
