Well it's certainly been a long time since I've posted anything here, so long time no see Dakka!
I've been busy painting fantasy stuff lately, and I'm trying to change up my technique from my previously lazy days of simply dunking stuff in citadel washes and drybrushing. But it's a slow process and I've got A LOT to learn.
That being said, here's some figures that I think turned out pretty well.
First up, a Guild of Harmony sorceress figure that I made for a local competition. Although she didn't place at all, I think she's by far the best skin tones I've ever done. I really learned a lot painting this figure and it's a nice piece for my display cabinet!
Next up is the iconic wizard from Pathfinder, cast in reaper bones. I'm not a fan of this material...in fact I hate it. Nasty mold lines that are difficult to remove. But, it was for a friend and I wanted to make him something nice. It was really hard to find the energy for this figure, I must confess.
This guy is my character in our Pathfinder campaign, a dark elf sorceror who might use a gun at some point. He's Malifaux plastic, I think the name of the figure is Klaus. Really nice model, excellent casting, great scale. I dressed him up with some extra citadel bits from various kits.
And lastly, my Freeblades. I've been intrigued by this game for a while now, and I won this kit at a painting competition at Genghis Con in 2014, and decided to paint it up and bring it to Genghis Con 2015 in February to play an introductory game with it. I like the game, its got some great mechanics, although it uses some odd dice, like d14s, d16s etc, that are a pain to find.
Their figures are really nice
IMO, quality sculpting and casting, properly scaled. This set is the Black Rose Bandits, minus the lizardman, who was pretty crummy looking compared to the rest
IMO.
Thanks for looking!
