Subject: Ways to deal with Screamerstar?

For an upcoming tournament, a few friends and I were warned that a certain power-gamer will be bringing a gun to a knife-fight (its pretty casual, and most people were encouraged to bring fun lists, above all). At least part of this person's list includes Fateweaver, and a Grimoire (meaning a Demon Prince too?), as well as blobs of Screamers with Heralds.
I'm sure there will be a fair bit more than that to worry about in their list, but I do know that Screamers are a super mobile, versatile, tarpit from hell.
I'd rather not see this person win, on principle alone (they habitually bring the most hardcore lists they can to the most casual of game nights, etc...) and would love some tips.
I'll be playing Space Wolves with a CAD of Space Marines as Obsec objective holders (since my SW are Company of the Great Wolf, its plenty of elite slots, but no obsec troops of their own).
I genuinely don't know what to bring, as even if I bring Thunderwolf Cav, etc... they're just gonna get tarpitted anyway. Centurions would be worthless. Essentially all these cheese of my own which I could muster, would be moot (plus i'd rather not be that guy... this event has already created an arms race which increasingly is moving folks away from the "fun lists encouraged" part).

You're fighting against likely multiple Heralds of Tzeentch for the Screamerstar. Ground Fateweaver and kill him in CC (easy) to take away his free D6 reroll (it's very important for Grimoire to work). Precision shot/hit any herald(s) which have the Grimoire or Forewarning spell and you'll be fine.
You could also bring psykers to deny Forewarning (or pray that none of his psykers generate Forewarning). Not getting Forewarning risks at least a few saving rolls of 2 (which are fails and can't be rerolled).
You can also deny the Tzeentch primaris, Flickering Fire of Tzeentch, which is the Screamerstar's punch. Without it, there's very little kill threat.

Well there is no real way to stop it without also playing a strong competitive list.
Depending on what your opponent decides to do, TWolves would be a great way to tarpit the tarpit. If he goes the Div route of getting a 2++ that is, if he goes for Malefic then your gonna need a few ways to take out summoned daemons on top of having a blob of TWolves tie them up to keep the screamerstar from using their incredible mobility.
If anyone else in your area plays daemons or tyranids you will be able to counter him by have SitW to make their perils tests harder or by challenging out the Grimoire holder and killing it by fielding a fiendstar full of slaanesh heralds with the exalted loci and Invisibility. Generally most people will be keeping fatey in reserves the majority of the game to protect that d6 roll either with Scriers from div or just having him fly on and off constantly while the screamerstar simply rolls up cursed earth on daemonology and then goes to work pumping out distraction daemons.

Stick all your dudes in stormfrostwolfmurderfang fliers, starting 1 on a skyshield, then fly around for 5 turns and go into hover and contest the objective/kill any obsec they have. Job's a goodun' boss.
The other option is to bring very strong ignores cover shooting (and preferably ignores LOS) and try to get 1st turn or sieze before he has a chance to grimoure the star. Proceed to to horrible things to the unit shielding the herald or FMC holding the grimoure. IIRC with Bjorn, some formation bonus from the champions of fenris book and coteaz, you're looking at a 3+ re-rollable Sieze. Stick some pods in there to ensure you come down when and where you need to and it's all over red rover.

I never realized you could keep Fateweaver in reserves and still get his D6 reroll. Interesting

Take lots of obsec. Bog his screamers down with infantry. They cannot HNR and their damage output is minimal. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also dont bother shooting screamers unless they are unbuffed. Spread out, use fast units. Sometimes going reserves is worth it.

Barrage the heralds out. Thunder fire work well here.

Not really, with them being t4 on disc and a 2+ LOS not likely to kill the heralds.
