Ok as i keep getting banned i decided to get a la top to post my questions and comments. Ok here we go.

I would like to fully understand why there is really only one way to build a army. i will use my space marines and eldar army to express my view on this. i have been told that the right way to build a eldar army thru forums and my game group is that wave serpent spam and wk is the only way to build them. but when i took them to a different game group to try and view the game differently i was called a tfg and a wac player. why is this i was play what is the best way to play eldar and the only right way from my understanding

now for my space marines i don't play them because i don't run a bikers army with chapte masters on bikes because thats the right way and only way to run them right?e pro

i dislike like that there only one way to play any army seems like there is so much in ever codex that goes to waste because you should never use them units
i would like if you could build a army how ever you want but thats looked down upon.

there isn't a "single way to play an army" and anyone who tells you that is an idiot. what you're looking at it sounds like are the OP net lists. those can be unfun to play.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I only see one question and it looks retorical with an incorrect suggested answer imo.

You were prolly called a WAAC and TFG because you brought those stupid lists from your moronic group over to a group of real people trying to enjoy the game. So you didn't 'try to view the game differently' you just brought the crappy things you think you know as fact to a group that isn't a bunch of dillholes, making you the only dillhole in the building.

Build a list of fun units, not Space Marine bikes, limit yourself to ONE wave Serpent, build a list that uses models that ARE NOT in net lists and play that. It's not looked down on except in your original little group of morons and liars.

Getting a laptop (I'm guessing that's what you meant) has improved your post. Give yourself a pat on the head. Just one though, you still have a long way to go.

Seconded.

If you're suggesting there is only one successful and effective build for each army, then I disagree. There are many builds and advice from others should be taken with a pinch of salt.

This said, the advice I've received on this forum for Army lists has been rather sound (especially from those Ork players) and constructive.

Thousand Sons: 3850pts / Space Marines Deathwatch 5000pts / Dark Eldar Webway Corsairs 2000pts / Scrapheap Challenged Orks 1500pts / Black Death 1500pts

Saga: (Vikings, Normans, Anglo Danes, Irish, Scots, Late Romans, Huns and Anglo Saxons), Lion Rampant, Ronin: (Bushi x2, Sohei), Frostgrave: (Enchanter, Thaumaturge, Illusionist)

Yep. You can run any list, even competitive SM have more than one Net list.

Generally if you ask for advice on how to build an effective, competative army, then you get told the optimum choice, as it's "the best" and running other units or combinations of unit is not optimal (see white scar biker marines as troops vs white scar tacs in pods).

There are advantages and disadvantages to each choice, and tacs in pods and mass scouts all have something to recommend them, but generally speaking, white scar bikers are the go to option.

Same deal with eldar. yes, you can many different things work, but serpent spam is the easiest and will take less skill to play than other variants which could be just as successful. That's not to say that only unskilled numpties use serpents, but it is an easy way to build a powerful army.

Keep in mind each group you play with will have a different mindset. Some will be all about creating the strongest list possible and tournament focused, others will be about playing what they like and themed armies and others still will be about epic match ups, recreating famous battles and generally doing crazy stuff that will be remembered for years. Many mix all and more into one group.

At the end of the day, play whatever army you want and if you are losing more than you'd like, then come to forums for list advise, but only use it as a guide, don't just blindly do as your told, consider what people are saying and make your own judgement.

'Straya... Mate.

There is no one way to build a list.
Even in a competitive environment, look at the winners of LVO's lists.
Build lists like you want to. My fluffy Minotaurs list has so many things that I "shouldn't" bring, but who cares?

Taking Eldar for example, I can ask friends for the type of game they want to play -

10/10 ultra competitive & hard counter to his list
5/10 fun list, either no WS but WK allowed, or 1-2 WS but no WK, or maybe no Farseers if playing Tau.
1/10 Footdar full of Banshees and scouts. I'd have more luck letting my wife choose.

And then everything in between, so there you go, there is several different ways to "build an army". However some combinations are just considered better than others - e.g DA+WS, rather than 20man guardian blob

Asked and answered. Next time put more effort into your spelling. You've had ample warning, abide by the rules we all have to abide by re: spelling or else
