Pretty simple question, is now a good time to get back into fantasy? I'm thinking of picking up a copy of island of blood and swapping for stuff from a friend to start skaven again, but is it a good time to be starting fantasy, with all the hearsay and rumors flying around about 9th?

No, wait until the 9th edition then purchase models off ebay.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

It'll certainly be cheaper.

This is actually really good advice. Even if 9ed is the greatest rule set ever produced there will be a ton of people who will freak out that it isn't 8th and sell their armies. Just get in within the first month or so.

Also then you don't need to buy an 8ed rule book.

I hate to say this....but...buy new...buy from GW or your FLGS. I'm not a fan of buying armies from ebay. It's a way to destroy a community and a game. Some FLGS are struggling to keep up ei thout shutting down, and if they shut down, you have no place to play often .

This exactly, buy where you play. We all know ebay / online is cheaper but you need to support your local shop. I'm not saying never buy anything on ebay I do it too, just be sure to spend local as well.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

I'm 40K, but I've heard that Skaven survived and they shuffled some of their number into their own pocket dimension.

So whatever the WHFB reboot is, Skaven should be in it.

I say buy what you want from it, you are always going to find people who will just play the last edition and if you want to find people who play 9th that shouldn't be a problem either. Of course I am saying that hoping that's the case since I just bought back into it myself.
