Subject: Deathwing or Dark Angels Drop Pod

A friend bought me a drop pod and said they're a lot of fun, but I'm not overly familiar with their use. I'm primarily debating between using it for my plasma veteran squad, just standard tac marines, or for my deathwing venerable dreadnought.
First off, should I paint it up to be DA or DW? I think DA, because it'd still be logical that a DA drop pod would carry DW units, but I think it'd be cool at the same time having it match my dreadnought.
Second, do you usually put the seats in it? I like them, but if I go with the dreadnought in a game there's no way of taking the seats out, is there?
Overall I am leaning most towards putting the dreadnought in it, so that it could join my 3-4 DW units during their turn 1 deepstrike.
Any thoughts, opinions, advice, etc. is welcome, thanks all.

If you want it to match your Dread, I don't see any reason you couldn't.
Also, try and convince people it's a Venerable Drop pod. For great giggles.

If it's transporting a DW drop pod, it would make sense to be bone.
Otherwise if it's not for the first company, then I'd say paint it green. Anything that's not a first company venerable dread will teleport into battle.
Or, do as above and make it a venerable drop pod. Just make sure you pay those 30 points for a Deathwing vehicle.

You can't make a DW Drop Pod, rules wise... Automatically Appended Next Post: I would paint it as a DA Drop pod. Ideally, they can carry anything. Second, I usually leave the seats in, but if you want to carry a Dreadnought, you can magnetize the seat sections so you can pull them out. It'd have to be magnetize the center to the floor, then magnetize each of the 5 harnesses to the center.

It's okay, I got the joke
I genuinely want to tell an opponent I have a venerable drop pod and see what they do now though, since all they know is "deathwing=venerable"....
Overall I think I might do it as standard DA though, just in case I'm not running my dread and want to try throwing vets in it. Easier to explain why a dreadnought is in a DA drop pod than it is to explain why non- DW are in a DW drop pod.

Paint it black and say it is scorched from coming down and then use it for either Deathwing or Greenwing.
I would definitely put a dread into it to drop into combat in the first turn with the terminators. Mine is made up with the harnesses in and around 50% painted at the moment; I'm a lazy painter so the harness may get removed. I don't think anyone can moan too much about it as long as it has the correct weapon showing.
If you get moans point out that the jet engine arrangement on the top does not extend down to the thruster beneath. And the awesome physics which conceals the massive engine required also allows the seats, fluffy dice and air freshener to pop up and down.
I went bonkers with my dreadnought. Venerable, assault cannon and flamer. So I can really dish out pain to large units when it lands or confidently take out AV10 rear armour. Drop pod has a DW launcher to beef up the anti-horde for the part of the force deep striking.

Venerable drop pod. LOL. I'd say paint it bone because it's going to look pretty sick - personally I think green drop pods look pretty bad.
