Subject: "Tony Stark" delivers 3D printed bionic arm to boy--let the feels commence!
A wonderful moment for that boy, and some seriously great work done by Albert Manero, Limbitless Solutions and everyone involved in making this encounter happen.
How blown must that kid's mind have been walking into a room with Tony Stark, and some Starks Industries crates, who presented him with a new arm tricked out in Iron Man colors?
I love how so many of the Marvel movie actors use their character personas to brighten the days of sick and injured children.

Ok, that's pretty awesome, both for the kid and on the part of RDJ.
I agree with the comment about Marvel actors, IIRC Chris Pratt "borrowed" Starlord's jacket so he could visit children at the local hospitals!

Very frank about his junkie days... still says he's an addict and all that.
Marvel is going to throw $$$ at him to keep the IM appearance going. Marvel movies don't do as well w/o IM. (yet, GotG is probably going to take over that)

I love how RDJ holds out his left hand without a second thought when shaking hands with the kid and his response to the kid's answer when they ask him who he's with.

I'm not sure how exactly, but prosthetic these days have sensors where they connect to the arm that reads electrical signals sent by the brain to where the arm should be, allowing them to be moved.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Awesome.
I was thinkg, it didnt say he had no arm, but a tiny deformed on he could move. so maybe the arm was responding to that.
Didn't get a good look at the kids arm, but its possible he has a couple fingers or a hand which he can move and the arm is made to respond to those movements.

I'm pretty sure it's sensor based. Entire right arm appeared nearly vestigal in nature, it only barely poked out of his short-sleeved shirt at one point, and i saw no digits on it (as is the case with people with the affliction that the digits themselves are vestigal on the arm).
But that's from a quick view, twice, so who knows.
Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
Another possibility is that even if he doesn't have fingers or a hand he might still have a forearm, just extremely small and so sensors could still pick up voluntary movement.
Of course eventually we'll have bionics that can directly interface with the nervous system which will allow for normal range of motion and just just a simple open/close hand.
