Would you allow me to use these as rapier laser destroyers? I ask to get a general feel of how likely it will be in pick up games to be able to use them.
Price for 6 laser destroyers from FW including postage = £174.72
Price for 6 double laser turrets from puppetswar including free shipping = £46.98

This is literally a £127.74 question.

Oh and the laser attachments are 65mm themselves (not including base) if that helps in your decision.

Sure. Can't fault you for saving cash, and they look pretty great to boot. I'd maybe see about covering the top and adding some Techmarine/Devastator crew (I think this was originally meant to be a Turret Upgrade, which is why the gunner seems to sink in to the floor), but go for it!

I would have no issues with it.

There is a top bit that can be put over the gunner, so I suppose I could just place a renegade/marine/guardsman crewman next to it to represent its crew, otherwise it may be difficult to remove crew or weapon separately. Edit: just realised thats exactly what you meant Paradigm.

Yes they are. Although I've yet to move them when I've proxied them (used lascannon teams) in games. If my opponent had issues with them being moved during a game since they have no tracks, I'd agree not to move them.

Puppetswar just released these track carriers, which would be even better as rapiers.

Oh yeah, those would be pretty damn good replacements. I'd go with those if I were the OP.

Excellent thank you! After the positive replies I already ordered 6 (about 5mins ago). But I can get the tracks at a later date. They apparently fit across well. If only I'd showed more patience lol!

Puppets of War actually makes a tracked laser Destroyer stand in.
