Subject: CSM Lord on Bike Weapons Combinations

Troubled By Non-Compliant Worlds

Working on finalizing my Night Lords list, I'm trying to figure out what the best kit is for my Chaos Lord on Bike.
I'm currently thinking Bike, Bolt Pistol, and the Black Mace, and mark of Slaanesh. He's gonna be riding with my squad of 6 Bikers, as an assault force to tear into enemy formations in close combat.
Other option was the lightning claw/lightning fist pair, but the Daemon weapon and potential for shredding characters with the Black mace is very appealing .
(As a side note I've already got a Dark Apostle with Murder sword)
What do you all run/would run?

I've actually been toying with the same build. I previously ran him solo with just a powerfist, but he ended up just getting tied up all game by 2 different units.
Right now I'm hoping to give it a go with bike, bolt pistol, Black Mace, Mark of Tzeentch and a Sigil of Corruption for a 3+/3++.
Personally I'm not overly fond of the MoS for the Lord, as his Initiative is already 5, but that really depends on what kind of armies you're playing against. If its generally against high initiative armies definitely run with the MoS because that Black Mace needs to do some work first.
I like the fact that you're running a Night Lords lord on a bike with 6 bikers because I've been running my Night Lords the same way. Great minds think alike, huh? Although I hope you're farther along in the painting than I am. All those tiny lightning bolts...

MoS lord on bike works well with the Crimson Slaughter Supplement. That way you can get a 2+/4++ lord with IWND and FNP if he's stuck with Slaaneshi bikers who have the IoE

Mace's good but ap4 will lead to troubles against 2+.
Classic solution is PF+LC. Not otstanding but reliable vs anything.
AOBF for a Khorne lord. Basically one of the main reasons to make your lord Khornate in the first place (other than for fluff reasons ofc).
Crymson Slaughter sword is interesting too. Though, it has a chance of just remaining a regular power sword for twice the price if you get caught in an unwanted fight.
Murder sword is too situational. Still not enough to deal with true beatsticks. Fails for the price when locked in combat with another unit.

The Axe of Blind Fury is quite excellent, though better on a Juggernaut than a bike (which looks cool, too, though you could probably get away with giving your Lord a specialised bike as a stand-in for the Juggernaut).
The Murder Sword is mostly for making your opponent afraid. It can be worthwhile, but only really if your opponent is bringing a really powerful close combat character and you manage to get them into combat (or they're sufficiently afraid of the Lord that you can control where they go on the board and greatly reduce the effectiveness of that character). It's extremely situational.
EDIT: If you're playing against Space Wolves, however, definitely bring the Murder Sword so you can use your Murder Sword's Murder special rule against Murderfang's Murderclaws and Murderlust.

Unrelenting Rubric Terminator of Tzeentch
|
Lord, Bike, Sigil, PFist/LClaw, MoN optional, MBombs optional
Lord, Jugger, BPistol, Axe, Sigil, MoK
Those are your decent options for CSM. Add skull to the biker lord for black legion for AW & EW.
Lord, BPistol, Blade, Disk, MoT, Heart, Sigil, MBombs, Horns optional
Lord, Bike, Sigil, PFist/LClaw, Heart, MoN optional, MBombs optional, Horns optional
are 2 decent choices for CS since the Daemonheart is the only way to get a 2+ outside of terminator armour for some unknown reason.
Can sub MoS in on either of the biker lords if I6 matters in your meta. Could theoretically take a JP with BLegion because of the skull, but it's still suboptimal.

Thanks for the input y'all! I really like Mark of Nurgle for what it does, but I don't want my chapter too tainted. I did MoS because it doesn't really require modelling, and it kind of fits the Night Lords underhanded dirty tricks fighting style in my mind (+1 init is sorta like only fighting when there's an advantage).
I'm running the Murder Sword on my Dark Apostle, who is tucked into a Dreadclaw Drop Pod with a group of 9 Marines with CCW's and an Icon of Excess. He'll be fast enough to chase his target around if need be, plus now we have a pack of Marines running around with Hatred and FNP in the oppositions deployment zone turn 1.
My biker squad is also running an Icon of Excess, so the Lord would presumably have a 3+/4+ and FnP in addition to the Mace. I did add the Sigil... not sure how I'd previously missed that.

Always excited to see another Night Lord player! I'ma ctually converting all my bikers into Jetbikes, so it's taking a little time, but I'm going to be taking the Army to Broadside Bash in San Diego, so it'll all be painted by the end of April! Haha. I'm doing a P&M blog here if you're interested: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/637482.page#7676589
