So i have seen a handful of videos of competitive bat reps on CD and one list configuration is usually the typical fate weaver and Be'lakor but instead of a Fast attacks deathstar(s) sometimes they showcase DP spam. Why and how? What I mean is how do you field Daemon Lists like these and how do they work. And not just how do they work exactly but how do they function against things like serpent spam, cent star or Tau? Just curious for input!

Daemon Princes are great in melee, and can mop up most opponents quickly.
The tricks are keeping them alive till they get there, and picking appropriate targets.

Take two greater and one lesser gifts, and roll 3x on Biomancy. This makes your Prince much more survivable. (If Tzeentch, swap the lesser for the Staff, a must-have at +2S. If Slaanesh, swap a greater for the Lasp, which is some decent shooting.) (The greatest downfall of the Nurgle Prince, though it's tempting to take him, is his S&P, meaning his opponents will always escape. Princes do the most damage by sweeping, so that's a bad ability to lose.)

If using Be'lakor, try flying in a group around Belly, with him always casting Shroud. Flit from ruin to ruin for a 2+ cover, or just always jink (if you don't have shooting, that's not a negative).

If you can hide the Princes out of LoS during deployment, give your opponent first turn. That way he'll move forward, potentially giving you a T1 charge. If you have to Swoop, remember that you won't make it into combat until at least T3 (T1 Swoop, T2 switch to Glide, T3 charge).

In CC, pick units that don't have invulns. Xenos of most types will lose combat and then be swept. If they are SS/TH termies, you're going to die. If they're GK of any type, make sure you can wipe the squad (so gang-bang with 2+ princes), because their Nemesis weapons will mess you up.

That's actually some really good advice and points to bring up. Do you have to snap shot whitch fires if you jink? And what would some tips be for 30 man gaunt squads or other big fearless units? Thanks for the input so far!

Yes, any shooting at all, even witchfires, must be a snap shot if you've jinked.

Ensure you get iron arm/precog/endurance/[insert other favoured surivability buff here] off and then don't roll poorly? If nothing else, if you're in combat, you're generally fairly safe since you can't be shot. Ideally you want to leave enough guys alive so that you're still in combat for their shooting phase and then either kill the rest or break them in their assault phase so you're free to charge something else or go back into swoop during your turn.

Dealing with a 50 man unit of conscripts with Azrael and a Priest is usually a recipe for disaster as you're stuck there for the rest of the game and will eventually be brought down by weight of attacks. Go after the characters where possible, though they will not often be silly enough to accept. If you can cram multiple DP's in there, it can sometimes churn through a unit quickly enough, but sometimes it just means 2 of your units getting stuck instead of one.

Also remember that DP's are T5 and don't have eternal warrior, so Str 10 (like from a smash attack from virtually any MC or a normal attack from a walker with DCCW) will double them out if you can get a single wound through.

Getting grounded from enemy shooting can also be handy, since you're free to charge in your next turn, though it can also open you up to charges as well in their turn, and sometimes that's bad.

Against some opponents, you don't want to charge early, and some games you'll do nothing but fly around jinking all game and land to claim/contest on T5 and hope the game doesn't have a T6.
