Hey guys, I am not a game designer or anything like that but I thought I'd try my hand at seeing if it would be possible to make a 7th edition appropriate version of Baron Sathonyx from the 5th ed Dark Eldar codex. I am intending for this to be used in non tournament games for a very simple reason: my fiancee LOVES the Baron. Specifically because her two favorite units in the Dark Eldar range are Scourges and Hellions, as such she calls her army the Flying Circus because everything has to be able to fly, jump or at least look capable of either. So in order to let her field the really awesome conversion she made for the guy, thought I'd give my hand at making him. Please give me feedback because even though its for friendly games I would still like it to be balanced.

Baron Sathonyx (125pts)
WS: 6 BS: 6 S: 3 T: 3 I: 6 W: 2 A: 3 Ld: 9 Sv: 6+
Bones of the Seer, Hellglaive, Twilight Shroud, Wychsuit, Shadowfield, Splinter Pistol, Hellion Skyboard, Phantasm Grenade Launcher

Selection Rules
Fleet
Hit & Run
Independent Character
Lord of Hellions: Hellions in an army containing the Baron are Troops choices.
Master of the Skies: Sathonyx and any unit of Hellions he joins may re-roll failed dangerous terrain tests. Also, when using Hit and Runn they can re-roll both the initiative test and the dice to determine how far they move.
Night Vision
Power from Pain
Stealth
Warlord Trait: Labyrinthine Cunning

Slot swapping is in the past.

Btw, why not make him akin to Snikrot? Baron would be Fast attack - Unique, Character (not IC to avoid annoying eldar council + baron abuse) but slotless when joined to a squad of Helions. He'd drop in price to, say, 90 pts. Reasonable?

I agree with this.

Agreed.

In fact, it might work to make it a formation - take 2-3 units of hellions, and the command benefit is that you can replace one helliarch with the Baron for free (he's good but not that devastating compared to some command benefits out there, provided he's attached to the unit he's supposed to be leading)

Termagants expended for the Hive Mind: ~2835

Deathsworn Protector: A Morralian Deathsworn must be assigned to a Character and can never leave this character. If the Character is challenged then the Morralian Deathsworn must fight in his stead. As long as the Deathsworn is still alive if the Character is wounded one of those wounds can be allocated to the Deathsworn. Should the Character that the Deathsworn is protecting be killed and the Death Sworn survives then he is subject to the Hatred Special Rule towards the unit that killed the Character till the end of the game. He must, at every opportunity, move towards that unit and should he be in charge range, he must charge that unit. Should the Deathsworn survive the game but not the Character he is protecting then the enemy is allocated an extra Victory Point.
