It depends on the wording of the Blood Angels formation rule. If I remember it correctly, no that doesn't work.

rigeld, the wording is "make a single roll for the entire formation, which you can choose to re-roll. On a successful Reserve Roll, all the units in this formation arrive from reserves."

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Thanks. Then no, it doesn't work as the Vanguard/Sternguard unit is not a unit in the formation.

rigeld, the formation is 2 Vanguard Vets, 1 Sternguard Vets, 1 Stormraven. He is asking about joining an IC to one of the three Veteran units.

Oh. So the Sang. Priest is from out of the formation, and those listed units are in it?

Then yes, it'd work fine. No issues whatsoever. Sorry for my confusion.
