Subject: How will Formations/dataslates expire?

Given that GW are releasing data slates left and right, what do you suppose the method for expiring them will be? Some changes to current codexes could potentially throw these out of balance in the future, so how will GW say, "Hey Skyblight is no longer a thing" or
"Yo, this formation is no longer valid." ?
Or will these dataslates be perpetually updated in each future codex?

I am going to assume neglect just like all their other army list schemes.

This. I imagine they'd only change em again at some point if the rules in an upcoming edition directly contradicted something about em to be honest. I think they wanna keep moving forward creating more and more variety in the future. I'm not sure if that's actually a good idea or not, but I guess they have some sort of vision for it. Maybe.

Well when did Chapter Approved become extinct? They had special rules when people used them. So when did they stop being used?

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I imagine some of them will expire when GW issues new versions of them in future codexes.
