Ill a there dakka dakka. I'm starting to ponder my next set of models for when I finish my slannesh army.

What with admech on the way I'm already pondering at the thought of rhinos with silly little legs and such.

BUT I was wiffling about possible conversions with a friend and ended up in a debate.

Hypothetically I am pondering building a big walker land raider thing. Weapon points will all be the same. Rules are the same it's not suddenly a walker or a thing ........ However

..... One musing I had was putting the front door on its back. In a large (to scale ) troop cargo area thing. So effectively I can't embark or disembark from the front.

Aside from all the other issues about it being far taller than it should be and stuff. He cares most deeply about the entry point being from the back.
Is that modling for advantage giving I'll be disembarking further away ? Is it pushing the rule of cool to far ?
What does the world think?

yay nurgle

I'd be fine with it as it's far more detrimental to you than helpful. Also it's not really all the different than driving the thing up backwards if you wanted to disembark behind it for some reason.

Landraiders are AV 14 all around so it makes no difference if you move forward fhen spin yourself all around. The only weapon this impacs is the hull mounted heavy bolter / assault cannon as everything else can swivel all the way around.

Too much. Not only are you changing the access points you're also changing the model's size/shape for LOS purposes by adding the legs. The only way I'd be ok with it is if the legs don't change LOS very much and you use the same rules as the standard model (disembarking from the front, etc).

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Build it regardless. In a tourney, I'd say gave them get out from where it 'should' be. In a friendly game, let's play it how you built it.
