I need to set up a Buffmander in the next 12 hours, but I have no idea what the loadout is. I tried Googling but it was all Riptides.

Help! Which weapons/systems do I take?

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

No weapons, lots of signature systems.\

Iridium and FNP for durablility
P.E.N. for on the fly special rules
M.S.S. for ignoring cover
CNC for Twin-linking

Now stick it with a dedicate hunting unit like dual plasma of plasma/melta full squads of suits to birng lots of pain.

^FnP optional, rest compulsory.

Unless your pairing it with Broadsides then CNC is kinda redundant.

Typically you also include a VRT for hit and run, a drone controller for BS5 gun/markers, a shield gen for 4++, and an Onager Gauntlet b/c it's 5p and gives you an opportunity to hurt scary things.

So if you're really going for the whole kitchen sink:

Iridium, MSSS, CnC, PENchip, Onager, Stims, Shield Gen, VRT, Drone Controller.

Rule #1 is Look Cool.

and a flamer or 2 for overwatch.

Eh, you can only have 4 systems, If you want hit and run, the drone controller and both resiliency support systems, the flamers have to be left out.

It won't survive the next codex, so enjoy it while you can.

For me:

Onager Gauntlet (why not for 5pts)
Vectored Retrothrusters (get me outta here!)
Multi-spectrum Sensor Suite (I see you!)
Command and Control (I see you real good!)
Puretide (I don't want to run away when I lose combat; I want to kill your vehicle; I want to kill your monster).

I don't use the stim, iridium or drone controller because my main experience is pairing it with a farsight bomb. I can see each of their uses though. Just me....

Then you're mad. DC on the bomb is great and Irridium lets you try and tank Str 8/9 and/or AP3 without losing suits, even better if you can LoS high str/low AP onto drones.

Depends on where hes going.. If you are using him in a farsight bomb then you should be using

VRT,DC,Stim,Shield,Iridium,CCN,MS3,NSJ

Put your buffmander up front to tank everything until he gets down to 1-2 wounds left. then you start using LoS and rotating drone screens. With his 2+ armor 4+ invul and FnP with T5 your buffmander should be able to shrug off everything that gets shot at your farsight bomb.

Yeah with good positioning he can really keep the bomb alive. Without him tanking, the bomb is actually relatively fragile. Sure, it's tough to wipe out in a turn, but a shooty army can make sure it's no longer special in a single shooting phase.

You need him. With everything.

If you put the same setup on an XV9 suit, is it a Buffmeleon or a Buffizard?
