Subject: How many bikes are needed to support Smashbane?

Hello everyone. I have recently dug out a Biker modeled as Smashbane and decided to finally put some paint on him. Of course, now I wish to also field this model but I am not sure if I have a sufficient amount of bikes to support him. I have the following:
Space Marine Biker
2x Space Marine bikers w/ Grav Guns
Space Marine Attack Bike w/ MM.
Would I need another bike squad kitted out like this or two?

30k Ultramarines: 2000 pts
Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.
The Empire : ~60-70 models.
1500 pts

Maybe model your biker as command squad on bikes, an apothercary for FNP and 4 grav-guner to take down MC at range, maybe 1 or 2 stormshield on these body guard in case there is lots of AP2 wounds that it would be too risky for the smashbane to tank them all. Such a squad would be very shooty and choppy. And quite resilent, unless enemy can dish out lots of S10 AP2 hits or high volume of fire (40 shots or more at S4 or S5+).

Either a command squad, or enough bikes for a 5 man troop pick. Or a whole army of bikes, but I think those two are your entry level choices.
So with what you have, I’d either add:
Bike sarge w/c-grav. (for the troop pick)
or
2 bikers with grav guns
bike apothocary
for the command squad. You might be able to get away with modifying the basic biker you have, depending on how he’s put together.

I decided to bite the bullet and splurge on a bunch of new bikes. I have coming in:
2x Bike Squad boxes
9x Dark Vengeance Bikes
1x Attack Bikes
So, I was thinking of this set up
Bike Command Squad
x4 Grav-Guns
x2 Stormshields
Apothecary Upgrade
Bike Squad
-x2 Grav Guns
-Combi Grav
-Attack Bike w/ MM
Bike Squad
x2 Grav Guns
Combi Grav
-Attack Bike w/ MM
And distribute the remaining bikers as I see fit. That way I have a killy HQ and some solid troops choices. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Space Wolf dogs, eh? What would they give him over, say, a kitted out Bike Command Squad?

I'm not sure going heavy on the grav is a good choice for his squad. If he stays in it, and they kill their target, he can't charge. (Or if they kill enough of the closest model and he fails his charge roll...)
