So I was thinking about picking up the Bahram starter set and wanted to build a list with it first. Here's what I came up with

Lasiq, Viral Sniper
Muyib, Doctor Plus
Ragiks, Rifle+LSG
Daylami, Rifle+LSG, Limited Camo
Daylami, Panzerfaust, Limited Camo
Fiday, Antipersonnel mines, Rifle+LSG

That comes up to 128 and 2 SWC, so I was going to add the Hacker Barid Lieutenant (22 points and 1 swc) to round it out. I love all of these models and I'm really tempted to buy the new Ragiks sculpt I do like Haqq remotes, not as much as the Nomad REMs, but I'll still probably get some and Ghulam infantry for the cheap orders.

Thoughts?

The Hassassin Bahram box looks awesome, and the models are all great addition to a Haqq army
But the box isn't great on its own, it really needs the additition of a bunch of Ghulams or Muyibs. The Daylaimis are good cheap troops, but due to their irregular status, they're not helpful to start an army with
Obviously they can be used as Ghulam proxies, which alleviates the irregular issue !

Yes I got that starter set and use the Daylami as regular Ghulam, otherwise it's not really a starter set you can play with just out of the box.

Definitely agree a Muyib set is a good addition to that set, love those guys.

I really prefer the Daylami in the box to the Ghulam models so I may take the advice to proxy the former as the latter. I believe Ghulams can take the Panzer. Can't remember off the top of my head and I can't open army right now

How does the internet feel about Naffatun? I like these models a lot too and such a cheap, regular order, heavy FT seems awesome.

I really like the Barid too but I suppose I can leave him out for now. Use the Rifle/LGS Daylami as a Ghulam Doctor+ and the Muyib as LT. With Smoke? Leave everything else the same and add 2 heavy FT Naffatun. like I said I can't open army to add it all up but it should be somewhere between 150 and 200 which is what I'm aiming for.

Naffatuns were strictly superior to Ghulams in N2
Now they are on the same level, different uses, but both solid

So, if I proxy the Daylamis as Ghulams (rifle = doctor and panzer is panzer) and add a Naffatun 2 model blister and the Hafza 2 model blister and use the generic Haqqislam army, I can build the following list:

Hafza Lieutenant (the guy with his arms crossed, he looks very commanding) 16

Lasiq Viral Sniper 1.5 SWC, 26
Ragik Rifle+LGS 26

That's 200 points and 2 SWC which is still within my working limits. I started an Ariadna list builder thread that kind of opposed this one, that's the army my friend will be using.

This doesn't even feel "special forces anymore" it looks like a regular army! but if it it works, I'm very satisfied with the models I'll be buying to get started. They look very cool indeed. Lots of painting to be done though.

I'd recommend turning one Hafza into a Spitfire-wielding one
It gives a Burst 4 weapon with longer ranges than rifles
The list has the SWC to spare, just need to scrounge a few points here or there
