I'm an eldar player who uses squads of 3 war walkers. I've played several opponents in my area who insist that if one of my walkers is imobalised then the other squad members must abandon it and it is therefore automatically destroyed.
So many people have told me this I have accepted it so far but looking at the rules again it doesn't seem to say anything like that. My reading of the rules suggests that the squad simply splits up if the mobile members move out of coherency (it doesn't even say they have to move out if you want to keep them still).
Who's right?

Yeah, the model isn't destroyed - it just is split off from the unit if you choose.

The rules for squadrons are pretty clear on how you handle this situation, ts not how your opponents think it is. It used to be they were destroyed, but not anymore.

I suspected it might be an old rule as everyone said it the same, none of them use squads of vehicles as far as I recall either.
Cheers guys!

Also, to be clear, you are under no obligation to leave the immobilized vehicle behind. You have the OPTION of doing so. You also have the option of keeping your non-immobilized vehicles in coherency. If you do so, the unit remains whole, but obviously can't go very far.

When you have a squadron and one of the vehicles gets immobilized you can leave it. It becomes it's own unit. In th edition if you abandoned it, it was destroyed so I think this was what they were thinking.
