Subject: Has anybody bought the new Citadel figure cases?
I'm having trouble trying to get a grip on how their new foam trays work. Can they really hold anything and everything like the product description says? Is this the end of the era of differently slotted foam trays where you had to put meticulous amounts of thought as to what kinda of foam trays you wanted to order beforehand etc?

I bought one of the Crusader cases to carry my Imperial Knights, and it works for that. It is the cheapest way of carrying 4 Knights securely that I've found.
Note that to fit larger models you'll have to remove some of the nesting trays, so the overall model count you can carry will be reduced.
Also it doesn't work at all for my valkyries, so any flyers with a wingspan of that level or greater won't work (though it does work for the Stormraven...go figure).
If you have a more traditional army without a lot of big/fiddly things it will work great. If you've got lots of big stuff or things like Tyrannocytes with lots of pieces that stick out all over the place it doesn't work quite as well.

I bought one for my Tyranids, a Crusade case to be exact.
To be completely honest, it's a lot smaller than I had originally thought it would be, though it is still slightly bigger than my old nid box. On the upside though, I haven't completely filled it yet (I've still got 2 completely empty trays and space in several others) and I've so far fit:
~200 gaunts (Horma and Terma)
6 Warriors
2 Zoanthropes
1 Malenthrope
2 Flyrants (with glued on wings)
a huge amount of Spore Mines
1 Carnifex
12 Rippers
1 Hive Crone
So yeah, the Crusade can fit A LOT. The foam's also very easy to modify and flexible.
Overall, I'm happy with it. Like the previous poster said, I don't expect to fit all my big bugs in there though.

can you guys post a screenshot with your stuff inside the foam trays? I really want to know how these new designs work / bend around the miniatures especially the big ones.

be better if we kept such discussions in one of those 2 threads.
No big deal though, fret not
