I am just curious about all y'all's opinions on the new citadel army cases? I am in the market, but don't want to invest $200+ on a battlefoam or KR system if it's not worth it. I feel like the new citadel stuff is a very good value. With the introduction of the hard shell exterior with loads of room inside I feel like it will be more bang for my $. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Oh this sucks because the cases I have will be devalued.

A new day, a new time zone.

How does that work? Do the cases you have suddenly hold less minis or something?

Hate to tell you man.. resell value on mini cases suck anyhow. They're the kind of thing that people throw in when they sell their armies.

On the bright side, the new mini cases will devalue less, because unlike pluck foam, the case won't be configured for an army other than yours.

The largest of the cases, the crusader case, comes with 4 of the 2-in-1 trays, i.e. you get 8 trays in total: 4 "innies" and 4 "outies" that you put the innies into.

Now the problem is, if you fit a large model like a Baneblade, Imperial Knight, Wraithknight, Riptide or such into the bigger "bottom" tray, then it will be impossible to put the smaller tray on top of it because the model will bulge out too much, so you end up losing the other tray since you cant get it into your box anymore.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

Unless you were smart enough to magnetize your imperial Knight so you can break him down in to tiny peices

That sort of thing is always a problem when it comes to big stuff like that. Whether you have to remove infantry trays and put in a larger custom cut or pluck foam section or in the case of the new GW cases accept that you aren't going to be able to fit models in the tray directly above the large model.... it's a problem either way.

I do like the way the new GW trays carry 49 infantry models, it looks much more efficient than the traditional method of hollows cut for each model, I'm still not entirely convinced the GW cases will keep my models safe though.
