Hey mates. While I am still planning on building a Space Marine drop pod list, a friend of mine has a whole army of Militarum Tempestus Scions he is trying to sell and he is willing to sell them to me for a good deal. Now I haven't paid too much attention to them recently, but I have always liked the special forces feel that they bring to a game, and from what I have researched they have been pretty effective in terms of alpha striking. That being said:

* Has anyone run a pure Militarum Tempestus army or just have used them as an allied force?

* Are the Airborne and the Tarox Formations worth taking and if so which one would be more effective?

* For the Airborne formation, can they come from reserve on turn one or would I have to have other units on the table in order to use this formation?

* Best allies for a Militarum Tempestus army?

* Tactics and advice to run a pure army of them.

Now at the moment, I do love the idea of an airborne assault, as I really love the special forces feel that brings to the game. Now I know Valkyries aren't as good as they used to be, but I believe they are still very good, flexible flyers to have especially if it's the formation. Appreciate any help you can give me on these guys mates.

I use the models and the Valkyries with Elysian rules for the turn-one Valkyrie arrival rule. MT don't have it.

I've found they work well as a support unit for the Guard, mostly I use them to blast through power armor and hold a few points, but the short range kills them as a full army for me

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.
