I apologize in advance if this seems overly critical:
I have seen a lot of posts just like this recently and I am sad to see that they are passing for the the new norm.
What this proves to me is that an airbrush is not a replacement for artistic talent. If you aren't already a good painter, airbrushing is just going to look... well like it does on this Knight. OSL has gone nuts lately. I for one don't really like it anyway, but it's getting out of hand. What used to be a complex process of layering colors so that it looked like one color "heated up" or "cooled down" into another - has been reduced to "spray color A, wait a minute, spray color B". And on this Knight, it shows.
In all the areas on the model that have the 3 little vents, the airbrush is applied unevenly, or off center, like it was sprayed too far in one direction or the other, and the coverage is uneven. And what's worse, it's being applied in places that it doesn't need to be! Why is the Knights helmet (the cockpit!) glowing? And that gun... I don't want to get into a 'heated' (see what I did there) discussion about thermal dynamics and metallurgy - but metals (especially the kind of dense compound metals that military grade weaponry is made of) has EXTREMELY high tempering ranges (meaning it can get VERY hot without melting). For those kinds of metals to get hot enough to glow like that - it would be a meltdown scenario for any poor crew members! The over-the-top OSL on that cannon does not (to me) look like its about to fire a laser, or melta beam - it looks like its suffering a cataclysmic meltdown and it's time to book it the hell away.
(also the person who did that just sprayed blue all over the gunmetal "bezel" of the gun's back plate... didn't even clean it up. Looks shoddy.
As for the Vindicator. Becasue the model is so much smaller, there are not as many surfaces to airbrush, but it looks like that happened anyway. the two main colors of white and green would look good if they were cleanly separated, but the person who sprayed the green door also missed and got green on parts of the white body. Looks sloppy again. Also the double-eagle logo on the door should be bronzed or gilded (could be an artisitc thing so it's not as big a deal, but it looks bad IMO). Also, the shell at the back of the tank - it's been glued together poorly. A LARGE gap can be easily seen at the seam. Ifthe glue doesn't work out like it should, apply some greenstuff and use a puddy knife to smooth it out. $5 and 5 minutes of work would make that look MUCH better,
And finally, the rust:
A lot of this can be forgiving since it appears to be a Nurgle-themed model and he is the "father of decay". But even then - why is the rust in such odd places? I can understand weathering around parts of the vehicle that would be subject to constant use, like the hatches, the exhaust vents, and the cannon - all those things would easily strip of paint and ware over time, and if not kept up, they would even rust.
But why is hte top of the vehicle spotted with it? It seems uneven and excessive.(and a little random). The tow-cable on the back right is PERFECTLY clean - no rust at all. It also doesn't have its mold lines removed., but half a foot to its left and the tank looks like it's about to have a new entry hatch...
Again, I don't want to sound overly critical, but this post is clearly meant to showcase a service... This just isn't work that justifies it. This is a hobby that a lot of people put lots of careful thought into - spending 5 minutes assembling and spraying a model just doesn't cut it IMO. Were I looking for model painting serivces, I would not - at this time - look here. Spend some more time on the model, smooth the rough edges. fully remove the mold lines and flash - fill in the gaps, and improve your aim wit the airbrush. all these things will go a long way towards improving your services.
best of luck

I also agree with this. Especially that an airbrush doesnt make a replacement for talents brush technique. And cheap- osl. The stuff above is ok though in terms of table top quality. Sure beats playing an opponent who doesnt paint their models lol...

Love the molding line on that Vindicator shell. It's so realistic.

Wow, guys.... Some seriously brutal and heartless commenting going on in here. Just because this guy is trying to offer his service for a living doesn't mean you have full right to lambast him. In fact, I'd wager that most of the above comments would be far less dickish if he just showed off his work as a hobbyist. I've seen far far worse work get glowing remarks.
Feed back is one thing, writing a novel post based on your personal pet peeves on airbrushing or saying +1 (or the equivalent) is not giving the guy constructive criticism. I don't care how many times your try to premise your comments as "not trying to be critical" Bull Crap! Anytime someone needs to premise a post with "no offense" or "not to be overly critical" is generally someone doing just that.
Seriously, if something is "passing" as the new norm then that means it's popular, and that makes a demand for such service. Which is in fact good for his business. People who hate on airbrushes are generally those who feel threatened or invalidated as a traditional painter, it's an invaluable tool for a commission painter and the two methods should never be seen as polarizing techniques. They are simply tools and techniques to get to the same destination.
To the OP, I wish you lots of luck and I think your work is better then 90% of the stuff I see at the local clubs. Keep it up!

Not sure what the purpose of this post is... You are entitled to your opinion in the very same manner that everyone else is entitled to theirs - but you cannot invalidate feedback just because it wasn't full of warm, fuzzy feelings.
Your impish attack on my "pet peeves" about airbrushes would have a lot more weight if it was wasn't immediately preceded by your own tirade of "pet peeves" about prefacing harsh comments with softer words... hypocrisy isn't winning you any friends. But then, this isn't really about you either!
The OP is a person (or represents a group of persons) that is trying to sell a product. That product is miniature model painting services, which I feel (based on my comments in my earlier post) is not a service that I would pay for. I explained at length why so that my post was more than just "this sucks, wouldn't buy!". I also suggested areas that he could improve to make his services more marketable.
And as for feeling threatened by airbrushes - what a juvenile thing to even bring up. I am not in the business of offering painting services so I am threatened by nothing of the sort. The feedback I gave is strictly (as stated) from the perspective of a customer. It's the kind of feedback that small businesses need to keep on going. It's also probably why he made his post here in the Painting and Modeling Showcase! I've done EXACTLY what should be done in this forum. You don't like it? Go sing some songs with toddlers in one of the many preschools that teaches how everyone is a winner and everything deserves a gold star!
And finally - about what I would have said if the OP were posting as an enthusiast instead of as a professional selling his/her services: You're damn right I would have been different. I would not have included the bit at the end about how I would not be interested in the services he/she is offering. I'd still have mentioned the "going outside the lines" with the airbrush, the lack of cleanup, the exaggerated OSL, and the importance of removing mold lines.

The purpose is to get you to check your privileged. Being, literally the first person to ever give this guy feed back on this forum it is awful that you felt the need to go so far in depth with a mostly negative critique.
The OP doesn't represent anyone but himself BTW. So it's completely out of line for you to direct your own prejudice on a technique toward him as if he is an ambassador for airbrushing
Nothing about the way you share your opinion is polite or well mannered. Classic consumerism, if it's for sale, suddenly tact is out the window. No where in your tirade did you stop to notice this is his most basic offering btw, but sure expect unrealistic results for this guys time and prices.
Wow.

I hate to injerject here but i will. I feel that the above user has every right to be critical of work put on the Showcase, albeit its possible you could have been a tudge more positive in your words haha. But in truth i do agree. I feel too often, that Dakka can be a little bit sugar coated. In my case, i post my work for valid advice from seasoned painters. Most of the time i get, great job, awesome, nicely done, whatever. Thanks for that, but also CC is important. Which is why i started posting my work to CMON. (where a dakka 9.5 is a CMON 6.5) The overall judging scheme on this site makes absolutely no sense. Sometimes i think people dont understand what the difference between the coolness and painting score is and sometimes you see space marine models that should be a 6-7 at 9-10, just because its painted in a grimdark scheme (for example) or simply clean like a WD model. All im saying, its refreshing to see someone call it like it is once in a while, and sadly this guy was the one to take the hit. No need to get defensive, when you put your work in the SC, you gotta be prepared for whatever, and hopefully the next project is a step up.

Wow.
K - you're being unreasonable and just slinging insults for your post count.
My dialogue with you is simply over.
To the OP:
I stand by my critiques. I feel that the work you've put on display is in need of improvement for it to be marketable IMO. Take that however you like. If the manner or tone of my comments offends you as much as it clearly offends Mr. PantiesInABunch than ... bummer? Offense was not my intent.
