The Land of the Rising Sun

As the title said I was wondering which book would have a good look at what marines do between smitting the Emperor's enemies. I already read the Night Lords books and now I¡d like to read something about loyalists other than kill kill kill and for the emperor!

Any good books over BL?

Thanks, I was looking something more novelistic tho. I know that marines don't have much of a life but still seems somehow sad...

Some books have bits about the space marines between campaigns, like the space wolves and Salamanders Omnibus. Both are a good read in my opinion, but aren't entirely daily life of a space marine, I don't think that would be the best seller if a book only focused on the daily life.

That's why I liked the Night Lords books. We got to see what marines do between "dead to the false emperor" moments.

Bloodquest, The Quest for Blood, Bloodquest II - For Blood We Quest and Bloodquest III-Blood Quested have some glimpses of how marines live from day to day as they're on their quest.

Not sure if it is in print though.

Rynn's World had some interaction between the Marines and civilian population, but was so, so, so by the numbers.

(I'm the jackass giving it a one-star review BTW)

Same with Sons of Dorn which shows recruitment and training, I was liked it a bit better 2 stars.

Ian Watson's novel Space Marine had a good look at 3 recruits and them growing as marines but it's long OOP and completely bat#$%^ insane. Boarding torpedos shot up tyranid spinchers, ejaculating bolters, great stuff.
