So I'm doing my heresy era Emperor's Children and auxiliary forces... specifically I am doing the forces of the Istavaan conflicts. I have some shiny new Skitarii here and I want them to be Legio Mortis auxilaries...

My question is do the Skitarii Auxiliaries follow the regular Mars colour scheme as Legio Mortis is from Mars or would they share the colours of the Titan Legion?

I'm assuming if they were traitors, they would repaint their stuff to not show allegiance to Mars, so I'm thinking it'd be the Titan Legion

Technically Mars sided with the traitors, so either is acceptable. However, given the mindset of Legio Mortis, they would want their skitarri support to match themselves.

Skitarii will either wear the colors of the associated Forge World or Titan legion as applicable.

Ah thanks guys... I am having a bit of a dilemma now as I'm not sure I want to paint or have a predominantly black force... It would be cool to be historically acurate for Istavaan but but but Titans look so much better in differents schemes than Legio Mortis's black and eventually I will take the plunge.. would skitarii ever attach themselves to SM Legions and display at least part of there livery like you often see with the Thallax and Castalax?

well IIRC the titan legion post heresy became corrupted by Nurgle. you could do a late heresy skitarii colour scheme and basicly make "plague skitarii"

Thats a bit to far gone and if I went with anything like that I think it would have to be Slaneesh with the EC and all ...

I would like the aesthetic to be at least passable for Istavaan reenactments.

Invent a forge world that has a similar paint scheme to the SM Legion you are doing. Just no insignia.
