I think we can all agree massed cheap str 6 firepower with plentiful ranged and meelee D str attacks are pretty game breaking and you can pretty much bet the take all comers list is extinct with these changes. As if wraith spam, fkyrants and adamantium lance hadent finished the job.

On moon miranda.

We'll have to wait for the full codex to be available before we have a complete and clear picture of what the army will look like.

However, from initial rumors and WD releases, it certainly looks like someone went overboard. It will certainly be interesting to see how the ITC deal with ranged D on units like Wraithguard

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

What does it mean for the tourney scene?
It means Elder have a new codex, that people will flip out about for a while, over think everything and exaggerate everything. While Vets and good tourney players will put the over thinkers in their place. 6 months from now the "sky is falling" about elder will be a lost conversation.

I have to agree with this.

You always get the crowd throwing the "chicken little" thing around, and then there's usually a strong substantiation of those fears after time has passed. You don't get "sky is falling" with every release as is often claimed, but when it comes out really hard, there's usually a good reason for it. Eldar have rocked the Tournament scene for two years, Necrons appear to be every bit as strong as was supposed, summoning and invisibility have proven to be strong, if nuanced, tournament winners.

I don't see any vets and good tourney players saying that the "sky is falling" because of serpents and I agree with Tsilber.

What do people consider "WS spam" anyway? Mass WS is not a very good army IMO, after so many you start to get a lot of diminishing returns. Yes Wave Serpents are good in general... but in competitive play, there are so many things that destroy serpents and so WS on their own are not going to win events.

Anyway, what does the new Eldar codex mean for the tournament scene? It means that D weapons will need to be reevaluated for ITC and any other formats that limits them, otherwise, it means that Eldar have some strong new options and people better learn to deal with it. When the new Tau or Eldar came out, people had to learn to deal with mass serpents, seer councils, crazy Tau shooting and things ended up just fine.

Anyway, if D weapons are everywhere, I think they should just change them so that 1-2 nothing happens and on a 3-6, you use the current 2-5 result-same with Stomps.

Please wait until the codex is actually released to talk about its impact. Because technically all you're doing now is discussing rumors.
