My local GW is holding a 'walker off' over the weekend, where you pit you chosen walker against another. I will be bringing a Librarian Dread Mastery Lvl 2 along, but I am trying to work out the best all psychic disciplines for this sort of foe. Any help would be appreciated! Sanguinary Discipline is also an option.

The opposition will literally be anything that's a walker, so I guess could be quite varied. Meta is (AFAIK) Guard, Chaos, Eldar, Skitarii, Tau, Knights...

Thanks!

The only thing from biomancy that helps you is Warp speed, but +3 initiative and +3 attacks for 1 warp charge is pretty awesome. Life leach could theoretically help with Str 6, but don't count on it.

Div is always good, but I can't remember what BA can roll on. Prescience is always good, but WC 2 can be steep. Counter attack from foreboding could help a little, but you've got better things that that. 4++ is brutaly good. Precog is re-rolls to hit for WC1 instead of prescience, combos well with the 4++ from forwarning. Technically you can rend via misfortune, but since a 6 means you've rolled a 16 for armour pen, you don't really need another d3.

Pyro isn't terrible! 4++ from fiery form, dangerous terrain from fireshield (enemies will strike at I1 and get -2 to charge distance), again, theoretically str 6 from spontaneous could maybe do something, but you're more likely to perils thant to hurt something with it I think and a melta shot that automatically hits. Certainly not terrible.

Telekinesis has assail as the primaris, which is str 6 again, but comes with strikedown, causing difficult terrain (I1, -2 charge distance), Crush, which while unreliable can be hilarious if you get an auto pen at AP1. Objuration causes an automatic haywire hit, pretty rad when you know you're going to face nothing but vehicles. Levitation lets you get into their rear arc and maelstrom give str 10 ap1 large blast (I don't have to explain whay that's good, do I?).

InvisTelepathy is a bit meh, with only Invis being good, but if you roll it... Technically you can cast hallucinate on an enemy walker, though the 1-2 effect doesn't happen, the 3-4 and 5-6 effects are nice (-1 attack, WS, BS & I).

Sanctic has banishment for when you're fighting a maulerfiend, Gate to get into their rear arc, Sactuary for a 6++ (or 3++ if you managed to roll this and forewarning or firey form!) and Vortex.

Maelific can summon fodder, but you can't actually hurt any walker worth the name with them unless you get Incursion and summon screamers for thei melta jaws attack. You could also get the armourbane beam, but it's str 3, so meh.

Your BA table is actually pretty good, almost like someone planned for a BA dread to roll on it... Quickening is a budget version of Warp speed that you can always have, +2 attacks from Rage is nice, Blood Lance is a bit expensive at WC for a Str 8 Lance shot, but at least it's a beam. Wings is pretty meh, especially for WC 2, but it could get you out of a tight spot.

Div is the winner for me, followed by your BA table, though Pyro and Telekinesis are both OK choices depending on the powers that you get.

Pyro also has a 4+ cover cover shield that has 1/6 chance of immobilizing any walker within 6"
Fiery form from pyro is 4++.
Molten beam can be handy as it's s8 ap1 that's technically auto-hitting.

Technically, you can spawn plaguebearers that glance vehicles on to-wound of a 6. Or horrors to get the summoning machine going but it's firstly quite unreliable to get this 3-WC power through with all those perils and it feels like cheating.

Telekinesis has objugation mechanism, levitate, maelstorm, 5++ and primaris that can pen on a 6.

Warp speed or BA quickening are great too if you plan on doing the job in mellee.

Libby dreads can select from Biomancy, Daemonology, Divination, Pyromancy, and Sanguinary. I'm liking the look of Divination atm...

One thing I've found with some of the psychic powers is that they target a single friendly unit. Surely this means the psyker can't cast it on himself? If so, there are some that are much weaker than others as they have more friendly unit buffs.

Also, Sanctic Daemonolgy is looking sweet for some reason...

Sanctic might net you:

Vortex of Doom, for some sweet D.

Gate of Infinity, to get you there, or get you away from there.

The rest is meh versus vehicles.
