Long story short, does anyone out there have, or know where to find, an archive of all of the final FAQs for 5th, including the final FAQs for daemonhunters and witch hunters? If you do, I would appreciate it if you would share that information with me. Thanks a ton to whoever is able to help.

Assuming that this is a question on the basis that you have a group interested in running a "modified" 5th edition, you'd no longer be playing 40k by the GW standards anyhow. You'd be free to make up your own house rules for how to resolve things, based on consensus from your group.

I apologize for what probably seems like a flip response, but it's for real. If you have a group that's interested in choosing their own gaming fate, so to speak, then creating your own FAQ binder should be easy.

I think "GW standards" is a bit of an oxymoron. I can understand the OP's interest in trying to play the maximized version of 5th- it is the edition the most effort was dedicated to actually balancing the game, and staying within the FAQs keeps everything within the authority of GW.

I unfortunately do not know where the FAQ's are, but I'm going to be keeping an eye on this, as I'm looking into getting a 5th edition crew going myself.

I certainly understand where you're coming from, and that is exactly what I am trying to do. I'm going back to 5E and houseruling things in an effort to create something that I and my local group will enjoy a lot more than where the game has headed. However, in an effort to do that well I would like to see what was in the last FAQs, as not only might it help me make some decisions, but it will also likely remind me of items which need to be addressed that I've completely forgotten about.

I don't think that's any sort of unreasonable logic to work from, and while I can still find some of the old FAQs, I in no way have all of them, and I would have to assume someone out there has all of them stored in an archive somewhere.

That was our logic as well. 5th certainly wasn't perfect, but it was clear some thought went into the actual rules, frustrating as they may have been at times.

A part for the vehicles who where too durable and wounds allocation and maybe a thing or two, 5th was imo the best rules sets, 6th and 7th certainly gave us somethings who are interresting, but the balance is all over the place.

I think i know of a place where you can find old 40k codexes and publications, gotta check first if they have any faqs.

Edit, ok found the rulebook Faq&errata for 5th.

Thanks, for some reason I hadn't thought of Scribd and I'll start poking through there to see if I can find what I need to if I can't get all of the FAQs some other way.

5th was mostly fine - fix a few oddities like wound allocation and it's the best edition.

Far better than 7th, anyway.

I believe it would break forum rules for me to point you at a specific place to download 5th edition FAQs because they are considered copyrighted materials. But they can be found at some of the same places you can find other creative works.

You could/should look no further than here on Dakka. It was the Inat 5ed Faq thread.

Reason to look for this is that GW didn't really faq 5th ed. At least not with any consistency or reason.

Ask Yakface. He had a pretty fair involvement in developing the 5th ed tournament faqs.

Please to note that the parking lot problem was not a flaw of 5th ed rules but in the subsequent Imperial/Astartes codices where many vehicle/transport points costs were dropped by 30%-50%.

5th ed was the most solid 40k ruleset. GW just released codices that hurt the game.

I hear you man, the game would have been balanced on a razor's edge if only all those pesky players using their cidexes hadn't gotten in the way!

I hear you man, the game would have been balanced on a razor's edge if only GW's profits before good gameplay codexes hadn't gotten in the way!

Corrected that for you.
