I recently purchased an Ork flyer kit which I am looking at using to build a Blitza Bommer (Love the look of it!)

This will leave some rokkits spare from the kit (x6) which are from the Burna Bommer set:


These are rather pretty bombs and I think they will be best put to use on Tank Bustas (something I don't have but rather want). I'm considering kit-bashing a load of these dudes as I don't like the Finecast versions as much, don't appreciate the steep price tag and finally dislike the Tank Hammer that's forced upon you.

What sort of weapons from the Ork Boyz kits would work nicely with these bombs to make Missile Launchas? I was thinking the Big Shootas as they have the length but I'm not sure how to go about it.

In addition, I spotted these backpacks by Kromlech:


These with the kit-bashed missile launchas - do you reckon they will be acceptable on the tabletop? I don't expect people to grumble about them not being the official tank busta models but you never know

If it were me, at least one ork will be holding one of those like a shoota. Kind of like a kid with his first model rocket!

Bustas are pretty easy to make up

Using a boyz kit, my spare bitz and mostly rokkits from other airfix models I made these;


To give you some examples of easy conversions;

I cut away the shoota bit of a shoota. gave it a triangle of plastic and stuck a meltabomb on it, then a couple to his back and some GS as rope/backpack securing it

I cut away the pistol and simply added a rokkit

Gave a dude the throwing stickbomb and stuck extra bombs to it, then I added his 'aimin axe'.

One dude has simply got the deffcopta rokkits strapped to his back with the pistols acting as triggers.

I've seen people use pen nibs really effectively, as the nib has 2-3 steps down that really look like missile heads.

Highly advocate going mad, my bustas get plenty of love on the board and its pretty obvious they shoot rokkits!

If you trim off the fis at the end of the bomma rokkits then they look quite a lot like Panzerfausts. That should be easy enough to get a 2 handed boy hold on.

Those are some pretty awesome Bustas you made there Solar Shock! They have much more variety and character than many of the ones I've seen

Y'know, they do look rather like Panzerfausts (if the fins are ignored/removed). I think I may try that out too to have a selection!
