Kind of a silly question but what color would a D-Scythe 'Beam' be?

Have there ever been depictions of such?

Am working on a diorama.

Thanks!

Hmm.

Like, it fire holes into the warp right? So could be any colour.

Try looking up what they did in Dawn of war..

It should be purest Black as no light will be reflected..

It is every color and none. It is opening a hole into the warp...so the color of madness? Salmon pink?

I would probably take it in one of two directions. 1) refractive rippling black (event horizon) or 2) a chaotic mixture of reds/purples or blues/greens surrounded by black. (think stargate or any other scifi warp gate)

For some reason, I like blue/white for most Eldar color schemes, though I think blue/green might work for a D-weapon.

Making it pink, red or purple opens up all kinds of jokes related to D-weapons.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

D-weapon shots in the first Dawn of War were pinkish, DoW2 turned them into white balls with a distinctive emission pattern.

Honestly the Warp being what it is I don't expect the same gun to fire the same colour shot twice in a row.

A D-Scythe does not work like that. The weapon only fires in the Warp, with no indication of it's activation appearing in "realspace".
The D-Scythe is actually firing at the in-warp representation of a unit.

I think it actually says in the new Eldar codex that D-scythes don't have any visual mark other than the things they are hitting. Maybe something like a subtle heat wave?

C'mon this is Eldar we're talking about here!

Its rainbow colored guys, duh.

On a serious note, imagine the warp suddenly opening up and tearing the unit it fired at apart. Similar to the vortex grenade I think. Black/ blue swirls with white lightning is what I'd go with.

It has 7 HQs, 2 Troop types with Dedicated Transports, 5 Elite units, 5 Fast Attack units, 6 Heavy Support units, 2 Formations with unique units not in the rest of the codex, and 2 LOW choices.

Never mind, disregard that. I think I read it in a novel I was reading on a plane yesterday, an old novel.

Basically all conjecture. It's probably a lot like those ghost buster vacuum things.

I'd have it vary based on the location and the warp conditions. In a place under siege by Khorne daemons it'd be bright red, with violent jagged energy slashes. In Tau space it would be a barely visible ripple that seemed almost languid, something you almost didn't see or realize was dangerous until it was tearing you apart. That sort of thing.

Now that would be cool. Poor tau, watching their friends get ripped to shreds by invisible beams of the warp.
