Any suggestions on what to use to model a relic blade for vanilla space marine honour guard?

I'm considering using a dark angels power sword.

Thoughts?

The Vanguard Vets box actually comes with a Relic Blade.
See if you can find one of ebay.
If you have no luck there, there is a facebook page called 'eavier metal that has a pretty large group of painters who are usually quite willing to supply bits if they don't need them

No that would totally work.

Good options for Relic Blades: GK Nemesis Swords, BA Sanguinary Guard Weapons, DA Swords.

I used a two handed sword out of a GK box when I put mine together. The DA ones from the ravenwing accessory sprue would also work well. You basically want a big, distinctive sword. Lots of them out there.
