Hi guys, I've 2 lists for your reactions please, but it's really about the broader issue of Objective Securing Troops' Dedicated Transports in 7th ed.

The reason - I feel Objective Securing Metal Bawkses are kinda a big deal, whereas my FLGS are still too focused on LoW/Super Heavies/Titans.

What I've done here is I made 2 lists where I basically started by thinking about DTs, they're the stars, then worked my way backwards to compliment them.

Please let me know which of the 2 you prefer, or if both are full of fail, what you'd do to improve them, or if you'd do another type of DT-centric list entirely.

In both lists, the DTs are Objective Secured weapons platforms, but the 1st has a higher quantity/lower survivability, and the 2nd fewer but tougher.

My local meta is maybe roughly 25% MEQs, 25% Astra Militarum, 25% Tau, 25% the rest. Everyone's getting D weapons; my brothers, they love the D.

I've considered other ideas, too (just going with Rhinos, or making a Raven Guard Razorback list), and I'm open to suggestions.

I think this is a good plan. I had some luck with my mechanized marines. Covering the board with objective secured units will win you Maelstrom games. But maybe mix one or three drop pods in too.

combining them both might be a good 1850-2000 list.

What mission formats do you usually play?

I kinda like it,but you don't have a place to put the MoTF...you can't footslog it behind the Razorbacks, he can't keep up with the vehicles and he'll get killed.

List 2
Now I'd like the aforementioned MoTF, to keep inside a LR and repair it. Buuuuut....

Since your meta is full of D i'd suggest go the MSU route,since D weapons can kill off only a squad at a time you're better off removing 5 marines at a time instead of 10. LRs make a juicy target for all the AT of your opponent, and their D.

I think go for List 1,but swap the MoTF with a Libby to put with a squad.
If you can get your hands on a DP all the better, drop some sternguard on the rear of their biggest tanks and show them YOUR D.

I am taking it on-board. The MotF, I felt, could shepherd the 2 Vindicators, which would move up 6 inches and barrage.

However, even if that was viable, it's still not as useful as a Command Squad w/ all Meltaguns in a DP, considering the meta.

I'm going to considering what to put, but it'll be taking away the MotF + 2 Vindicators for Libby + Melta DP + something else.

You correctly anticipated it, our meta is moving to Maelstrom in particular or just the classic ones.

Yeah, I think that's a good idea. People do bring Knight Titans even in 1000 pt games here, so that 1st DP filled with Melta will probably see a lot of utility.
