I already preordered this game but this weekend they are having a free download and trial at certain times. My kids and I played this morning and we already fell in love with it, and that's just on 2 levels. There is a ton of extra content in the full game as well.

Just a heads up as well as a general discussion if anyone wants to chat about it

I just Googled it after reading this and it looks fething awesome.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Yeah it's got a surprising amount of content right off the bat. My kids and I had a blast on the trial today, we will certainly play it again tomorrow. Can't wait for it to launch so I can get my copy

Nintendo is doing another test of the game next week. It's going to be 3pm pacific time (Google when that is if youre not in time zone) on the 23rd.

Just a heads up! It's a free trial download as well.

I'm supposed to get my copy today. I also have a 3 day weekend so myself and my kids will be putting it through its paces and I'll give a better more in depth take on it.

I can tell you that from the free test plays that at first the aiming is a bit weird but you get used to it very quickly. By weird I mean it's because you am both with the joystick and motion control for fine tuning. It really works and didn't feel twitchy at all like trying to play shooting games on the Wii. Anywho more to come!

Took turns playing yesterday for a few hours between myself and my rug rats. This game is incredibly fun and surprisingly tactical. I tried at first to just run and gun and didn't fair to well at all. Instead I started to cover as much are with ink as possible and then just hide in an open area inside an ink puddle and wait for my moment to pounce.

I've discovered that if you don't move in squid mode the other team can't see you. So when opponents come along I'm already taking aim and then POW I jump out and strike. My best so far with this strategy was I finished a round with 8 kills 1 death with a kill steak of 5! I took down 3 of them in one awesome 80s action movie moment where I was chucking grenades and machine gunning them all down like a bad ass.

The progression is clever too. You get points for not only killing but covering the arena with ink. That leads up to you getting XP and levels obviously. You get cash depending on how well you do and with that you buy weapons and clothing. The cool thing here is your outfit will level up with you and get random perks added to it as you go. Just further increasing your bad assness. So far my shoes have an ability that makes me move a lot faster in squid mode.

My children LOVE the paint roller weapon. It's really strong is easy to use and you can fling ink like a gun if need be. At first I thought it was OP but I've since figured out how to fight people using it. I've realized it was a clever tool Nintendo came up with so young kids or people like my wife that arnt so good at aiming on the fly. You can just steam roll people in fact my daughter calls it her steam roller.

Anywho that's where I'm at so far. I havnt touched the single player yet though I will soon because upon beating it I'll unlock a costume of the evil octopus guys and I love being a bad guy. In a few days my amiibo for the game will arrive and they together add something like 60 challenges and such to the game as well as a bunch of costumes, like a giant robot of awesome or a samurai.

Looking awesome so far, I think this is going to become one of the must have games over most others for sure.

I got it last friday. Happy I got it on the cheap, €35. That's cheap, I heard most people had to buy it for $60.

The game is great. But there isn't a lot of mp content. 1 gametype and 4 maps. (wich randomly regulate. Have to spend 8 hours on just 2 maps when you have bad luck.) The good thing is that they'll roll out 8 dlc maps for free.

No luck getting the Amiibos either. They're all out of stock around here.

Still think they should nerf the Kraken paint rollers ability. Way to overpowered and to easy to get

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

I preordered my amiibos for the game simply because I knew what was going to happen lol.

I do agree on kraken that is just bonkers powerful. I played a match where a guy turned that on and killed my entire squad from the spawner like it was nothing. But what shooting games doesn't have it perfect at launch, at least I can play the game with very little issues.

I havnt had this much fun shooting people since I was hooked on team fortress 2

Got my amiibos in the mail today and messed with them for a few. The challenges are good fun so far and can be rather tough. One I did earlier I had to run a whole stage without being able to refill my ink. That's just to unlock the costumes. Somehow they also add new mini games to play when waiting to join a match as well as being able to play the entire single player game again but using a roller and then a charger if I remember right.

Also I beat the d single player game the other day and it was enjoyable. Definitely good training for online play and the final boss fight is a bit of a toughy, specially when compared to the rest of the game.

Lastly yesterday Nintendo released a new online mode that is like playing king of the hill and is crazy because the area is in the middle of the stages and it just causes death like crazy. Also they released a new blaster modeled after the original zapper gun from the 80s, my son loves it. My personal fave is the blaster, it just lobs a huge blob of ink and will KO some one in one shot. It's slow and take skill to use but I love it.

Anyone else have stories and thoughts yet on this gem?

I been loving this game too, first game I got brand new after the last pokemon game. It's fairly fun and i have only been frustrated a few times, but once you get in the groove it's great.

my own favorite guns are the splattershots.... so much dakka ink!

Yeah I'm in love with the n 85 zapper. That thing is so fast! I find weapons that shoot incredibly fast to be my fave but I also really dig the blaster. Its incredibly slow but it's a 1 shot and done weapon. I'll wear a bunch of defense gear and run that. People will be spraying and praying while I just take a second and shoot.

My only real gripes with the game:

I HATE how the stages work. I've been stuck in the same stage for 5 turns in a row. That gets boring. I'd rather they just alternate ALL the stages even if 1 after another.

I think the kraken is WAY over powered. It's invincible, faster than you by a lot and 1 shots you. Your only hope is to run away and pray they are going after a team mate.

Other than those 2 things, the stage rotation is the worst, I'm in love with this game.

I've been running with chargers lately. It's a good challenge and some games I really lag behind but sometimes I come out on top as a major ass kicker. I also find it funny how some people will charge at me because I have a charger, like I HAVE to fully charge the gun to shoot. I just pump the trigger like a mad man and mow em down lol.

I've also finished the girl amiibo challenges and beating the final boss with a charger is a real treat. I found it easier with the charger but I don't know if it was because I knew how to beat him this time around or what.

My only gripe is that it seems i have been having connection problems quite a lot. anyone else have some too? I can barely finish a game at times.

What about the hijacked truck that contained preorders for much of the UK?
Me personally, I dislike the concept of collectable figures to go with games.

I get them on occasion but not that often. Is it the connection on your end? Although I know of people having that problem.

As far as the amiibos go in game they do add a bunch to the game but nothing that would give me an advantage over someone else that didn't have it. That sucked that those were stolen but I'll bet eventually replacements will pop up. I don't see anything wrong with amiibos it just adds a little bit to a game you dig. Sure it's a glorified dlc but at least I have something cool sitting on my shelf to look at
