Hey dakka, you guys have some good modeling and army proxy advice, I was wondering how I could fit mandrakes into a guard, dark angel and inquisition army. I really like the models and I would like to add them but I don't know what I could proxy them as. I really don't want to buy them if I can't use them and I would really like to use them as they are great looking beautiful models.

They could make neat Death Cult Assassin or Arco-Flagellanta stand-ins for the Inquisition.

AdMech should be getting electro priests soonish, they might work well for them.

DCA seems like the obvious choice AFAIC

What about Daemon-hosts? They can look possessed if you paint them like burbing guys or stuff like this.

I'd say to treat them as actual mandrakes that have been recruited/hired by the inquisitor somehow, and then use either daemonhost or death cult assassin rules depending on whether you want to play up their supernatural powers or their alien speed and lethality.

Death Cult Assassins or Daemon Hosts. I think Daemon Host is the more applicable one since Mandrakes are technically daemons.

But seriously I think you should just start a Dark Eldar force and actually use them as Mandrakes. Since they are now able to fire their Bale Blasts on turn 1, they can actually prove to be a pretty useful infiltrating unit.

I don't want to drop the money for one, I just want the mandrakes, as I can't stand most of the other models they have.

What ordo inquisitor are you using?

If xenos, go unbound.

If xenos and hereticus/malleus deffo go unbound.

Favorite personal list is a xenos inq warlord and a unit or 3 from various xenos races(radical inq with mercs), unbound obviously.
